Seagate Lays Claim to Industry’s Only 1TB-Platter 4TB Desktop Hard Drive
Seagate has a couple more industry-leading declarations for the drive, too, including the lowest cost per gigabyte and highest average data rate (146MBps). We’ll hold off on declaring much of anything until we lay one of these puppies down in a test bed, but in any case the 3.5-inch Desktop HDD has solid specs, including a SATA 6Gbps interface, OptiCacheT technology for a performance boost, AcuTrac technology for more dependable performance, power conservation modes, and Disk Wizard software to make expanding storage past 2TB easier.
Street prices for the 4TB Seagate Desktop HDD look to be consistently around $190.
