Good afternoon to all of you, it's certainly a great afternoon for me. According to FedEx, my Athlon 64 package is supposed to arrive today. With all of my excitement, I realize I'm still a little kid a Christmas time. The cold weather, the snow, and of course the new toys... it still brings back that same feeling. Though now that I'm older, I'm able to appreciate the family gatherings a little bit more, but the gathering of new hardware is almost as good :) Mushkin PC2-5300 vs. Corsair PC2-5400 review @ MetkuMods "With the latest chipsets there have been many new terms and technologies introduced to the public. In system memory this meant the introduction of DDR2 memory modules. With lower... Read more...
The news is crawling this weekend, but we have enough items for your afternoon fix. I've been on the search for a good heatsink and fan combo for the 3000+ I have recently ordered. Temperatures in my computer during the winter aren't a problem as I have a link from outside, going straight into my case, but when summer comes I'll be needing something a little better than the stock cooler. But enough about that, let's get reading... Mushkin PC2-5300 DDR2 Memory reviewed @ hi-techreviews.com "The maximum attainable speed we able to achieve with the PC2-5300 was a very respectable 321 MHz or a 642 DDR, slightly less than the 667 MHz Mushkin rates this memory to perform at. With the recent findings... Read more...
Well I finally got some much needed cleaning done today. Of course my lungs are now filled with dust and whatever else grows in the corners of my room, but that works out great for you since it gives me time to post the news. I've got to go fill out a couple more job applications, so enough with the chit chat. Oh, and if you haven't already, make sure to check out Dave's phone interview with the guys on the PC Chat Radio Show... if you're a fan of HH, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Interview "Beginning in 1993, the series has seen three installments, all of which have been hailed as some of the best role-playing games ever made. Now, eleven years after Arena first... Read more...
Good morning folks!  Happy Post Thanksgiving to all our State side friends.  In typical holiday fashion, I managed to eat so much food I still feel full the next morning.  We had one heck of a spread including a 25LB turkey and all the sides you could imagine.  What was more amazing was that for some reason, the turkey didn't make me sleepy at all.  In fact, I was wide awake the whole night, staring at the ceiling wondering if the triptophan would ever kick in.  Sadly, it didn't.  So it's lots of coffee for me this AM followed by a late afternoon nap for sure. I hope the rest of you had a good time with the one's you love, as that is what Thanksgiving is all... Read more...

Welcome back brothers and sisters.  With the day drawing to a close and a good majority of the HH labs shut down for the evening, it looks as if it is time for your nightcap.  It may not be as big as our normal "last call" of the day, but it should tie you over until the AM ;)  Mushkin 1GB PC2-4200 DDR-2 Memory Review @ PCStats "In this review, PCStats will be testing a set of new 512MB Mushkin PC2-4200 DDR-2 RAM modules, for a total of 1GB. These green single-sided DIMMs are wrapped in black aluminum heatspreaders, and fall into the PC4200 class. They are rated to run at 266 MHz with 4-4-4-12 memory timings, at 1.8V. The memory runs a bit conservatively considering... Read more...
Good morning everyone :)  The news front is bumping and it is getting late.  So, let's skip over the banter and get right down to business...  BenQ 16x DVD -RW Double Layer Writer @ ExtremeMhz "Based on some email requests from our readers, today we will take a look at yet another 16x DVD writer, this time from BenQ.  Not to be confused with the DW1610, the new DW1620 offers the same capabilities but adds support for double layer writing.  While not a 4x double layer writer, this drive is set to compete against the Lite-On SOHW-1633s and LG GSA-4160B.  This is the first time we'll be checking out a product from BenQ and based on all I've read, it appears to... Good morning friends, I hope you survived the night :)  Myself, I kicked back for a little while and watch Scary Movie 3.  I found the last two movies of the series mildly funny; however, I won't be recommending this one to anyone.  If you haven't seen it, and are set on renting it, the pre-title sequence is the best part... ;) Mushkin Enhanced 1 GB PC4000 DDR Memory @ Systemcooling "Today we are going to look at some RAM from some people who have been providing memory to the enthusiast crowd for quite some time, Mushkin. When given the opportunity to look at their latest offering, a Dual Pack of PC4000 DDR, it took all of about 3 seconds to say you bet! I was familiar with... Read more...
PC133 CAS2 SDRAM Module Competition Corsair Vrs. Mushkin By Dave Altavilla - September 19, 2000   Like building a house on a solid foundation, there is just no substitute for good memory, when it comes to performance computing.  Virtually all of the various components in your PC access main system memory at some point or another.  Whether you are an avid "Over-Clocker" or the conservative type, there is nothing more essential to system stability than a robust Main Memory Subsystem.  Having memory installed that is capable of handling the high end clock rates of today's modern system busses, can be the difference between "rock solidness" and an irritating...
