If we needed any further evidence that a new entry-level iPhone is coming, look no further than the official Apple Store. Leaks surrounding the upcoming smartphone have alternated between the name iPhone 9 and iPhone SE, but it appears that Apple has settled on the former This confirmation comes from an Apple Store listing for the Belkin InvisiGlass Ultra Screen Protector, which retails for a hefty $39.95. The screen protector was originally designed for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, but the listing has since been updated to include the iPhone SE. Given that the iPhone SE is reportedly using the same chassis design as the iPhone 8, it would make since that this Belkin screen protector... Read more...
All signs point to Apple releasing a low-cost iPhone 9 (iPhone SE) very shortly. The latest evidence of this impending arrival comes courtesy of new cases that have showed up at nationwide electronics retailer Best Buy. More specifically, Best Buy stores have been receiving shipments of a new Urban Armor Gear case, and it's further described as being for "New iPhone 4.7-inch 2020", which is of course in reference to the iPhone 9. 9to5Mac, which originally reported on this new case in Best Buy's inventory, indicates that its source say that it cannot be "merchandised" until Sunday, April 5th. The April 5th date is rather curious, as Apple doesn't typically announce new products... Read more...
Yesterday, Apple announced a refreshed MacBook Air with double the storage and faster Intel Ice Lake processors along with a new iPad Pro family with dual rear cameras and LiDAR scanning support. If a new rumor is accurate, we could soon be seeing an official announcement for the iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus entry-level smartphones. This news comes from Jon Prosser (via Twitter), who has a pretty good track record when it comes to Apple rumors. He posted a simple tweet which stated, “iPhone 9 has just entered mass production”. If that is indeed the case, Apple is currently making sure that it has ample supply of the new phones available for the inevitable launch.... Read more...
Details have surfaced about the rumored iPhone 9 (or iPhone SE 2 depending on who you talk to) that indicates Apple is working on a Plus version of the smartphone. The rumored Plus version would bring a larger screen to the mix, giving people more space than what has been reported in the supply chain for the smaller device.  Code tidbits from iOS 14 suggest that the iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus will replace the iPhone 8 line, which includes a 4.7 and a 5.5-inch version. The code suggests that both devices will run the Apple A13 Bionic chip, which is the same processor used in the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro. Future high-end iPhone models are rumored to use an all-new 5nm A14 SoC. Such... Read more...
We are fast approaching the next round of iPhones, as Apple typically announces new devices in September, followed by availability in October. That means the rumors, leaks, and speculation are heating up. Leading up to the launch event, at least one analyst believes Apple will announce an upgraded iPhone X model with 512GB of onboard storage, and Apple Pencil support. Neither of those bits would be a surprise. Samsung, after, just recently announced its Galaxy Note 9 with a 512GB SKU, which users can double to 1TB if plopping in a capacious memory card into the phone's microSD card slot. The company also made a big to-do about its revamped S Pen with Bluetooth support. It's Apple turn to counter.... Read more...
Apple is set to launch three new iPhones this year with two of those being OLED devices according to rumors. The third device is said to be a much more affordable LCD equipped device with screens rumored earlier to be supplied by LG. That 6.1-inch standard LCD-based iPhone is widely expected to outsell its OLED counterparts. A new rumor is making the rounds today that claims the iPhone with that 6.1-inch display will also have absolutely minuscule bezels. The device, being called the iPhone 9, is tipped for bezels as thin as 0.5mm and set to launch in late November. One reason that the standard LCD version of the 2018 iPhone is expected to sell in much larger numbers than the OELD brethren is... Read more...
