Thermaltake and BMW Group subsidiary DesignworksUSA are no strangers to each other. They've been working on concept projects for the past several years, and the two have teamed up once again to unveil a line of Level 10 gaming peripherals starting with the 'Level 10 M Mouse' for gamers. It's as funky looking as Thermaltake's Level 10 case and just as likely to turn heads at LAN parties. As weird as it might look, the Level 10 M Mouse is built with ergonomics in mind. It has a solid aluminum base "to ensure both durability and tenaciousness," and is built with an open design with an air-through ventilation system to prevent "issues due to heavy use and direct touch of gaming equipment." There's... Read more...
Few companies are as active in the solid state drive (SSD) space as OCZ, and so it makes perfect sense that it will use the upcoming CeBIT tradeshow in Hannover, Germany to showcase client and enterprise SSDs, including its soon-to-be-released Vertex 4 SSD Series. That means waiting a few more days for the full scoop, but in the meantime, we can tell you that Vertex 4 will sport a SATA 6Gbps interface built around the Indilinx Everest 2 platform. OCZ says you can expect "industry-leading performance and superior data management for all file types and sizes" with Vertex 4. OCZ, if you recall, acquired Indilinx in 2011 for the bargain-basement price of $32 million, giving the company its own SSD... Read more...
MSI always seems to make a splash at CeBIT, and this year is no different. The company is using the trade show to launch a slew of new machines, including a handful of All-in-One PCs. The 24" AE 2410, the 22" AE 2210, AE 2211 and AE 2240, as well as the 20" AE 2050 and AE 2070 are the latest Wind Top AE models, and they all utilize Intel's newest 2nd-gen Core processor family. If Intel isn't your cup of tea, AMD's new Fusion platform can also be ordered up, with all of the models 22" and up having THX TruStudio Pro audio and a 1080p panel. You'll also find goodies like USB 3.0 and "5.1" channel surround sound, but evidently MSI is waiting until after the show to get down to the specifics. We'll... Read more...
It's said the eyes are the windows to your soul, but as it turns out, they're also integrated input devices. Or at least that's the idea behind Tobii's eye-controlled laptop concept. Using eye tracking technology from Tobii, the company went and built a fully functional prototype laptop that lets users manipulate images and other functions just by glaring. Freaky stuff, and freakishly cool. "More than anything else, the Tobii laptop prototype is proof that our eye tracking technology is mature enough to be used in standard computer interfaces. To reach a state where the technology is part of the average computer, we need to make it smaller and cheaper. We believe that this can be realized in... Read more...
CeBIT is just starting to heat up in Germany, but Corsair has a mind to keep things on ice. Aside from launching a new USB 2.0 thumb drive, the accessory maker has also introduced the Corsair Cooling Air Series A70 and A50 CPU coolers, with the former designed for those "looking to squeeze every last megahertz of performance out of their high-end Intel and AMD processors, without sacrificing low noise levels." The A50 line, on the other hand, is more for those who have yet to really jump on the overclocking bandwagon, or as Corsair puts it, it's designed for "PC builders and hobbyists who want to upgrade from the stock Intel and AMD coolers."The Air Series A70 utilizes four direct-contact 8mm... The CeBIT trade show has opened its doors to the world today, and a handful of companies are already out making announcements. Corsair is getting things started right with a new line of ultra-high speed, high capacity USB flash drives. By and large, the flash drive market has grown somewhat stale. There's just not a lot of innovation left in the industry, and while some vendors are outing USB 3.0 versions of existing sticks, Corsair is digging deeper than the obvious. The company has decided to stick with USB 2.0 (presumably to keep costs down), but they're using a new quad-channel architecture to enable speeds of up to 34MB/s over the traditionally sluggish USB 2.0 protocol. That's nowhere near... Read more...

According to leaked details from blogeee, the three new models–the Eee PC 1018P, the Eee PC 1016P, and the Eee PC 1015P–all have 10-inch displays and likely run on Intel’s latest Pine Trail Atom processors. Although we aren't likely to see official details from ASUS until CeBIT 2010, a few more leaked details are currently available. For starters, the ASUS Eee PC 1015P is apparently a refresh of the current Eee PC 1005P. The most noticeable upgrade with this newer model is a larger touchpad. The Eee PC 1015P features an aluminum body and touts a battery life rated for up to 14hrs. The ASUS Eee PC 1016P reportedly targets business users with... Read more...

If MSI's iMac-like Wind NetOn AP1900 was a bit too "standard fare" for your tastes, the aforementioned company has revealed a few touch-friendly machines at CeBIT that may be just what the innovation doctor ordered. The all new Wind Top line has been revealed, and at least initially, it will consist of three models: the AE1900, AE2200 and the AE2010. The line will span from 19" to 22" in terms of diagonal screen size, and much like HP's TouchSmart all-in-one PCs, these too posses all the internals you need for a full-fledged computing experience and allow you to control the mouse cursor and various other applications via touch. As for the AE2010, it will come with a single-core AMD processor,... Read more...
Stay sharp, Toshiba, as A-DATA's infringing on some of your territory today. Months after Toshiba proclaimed that it would be bringing the world's first 2.5" solid state drive to CES 2009, A-DATA has stepped in at CeBIT 2009 to also suggest that it has launhed the "highest capacity of SSD in the industry." It's product? The 512GB XPG 2.5" SSD. Seems we need some clarification from both parties, no? Best we can figure, A-DATA is going to be the first to actually have these drives available to consumers and OEMs, but since it doesn't mention a release window in its press clipping, we can't even say that with certainty. As with most SSDs, this one also comes encased in a durable, lightweight aluminum... Read more...
While you may have assumed that the green trend was dying out, we have reason to believe otherwise. Just days after Zotac pushed out a couple of new "eco-friendly" graphics cards, ATP has announced its very own "green" DDR2 FB-DIMM memory modules. The super low power sticks offer up a 1.5 to 3 watts-per-DIMM power saving, which is supposedly 35 percent or so compared to rival models by its calculations. The company has brought along the power saving DIMMs to its booth at the annual CeBIT trade show in Germany, and these are said to be shipping out now to those interested. Michael Plaksin, ATP Vice President of Sales, stated the following: "The biggest drawback on the standard FB-DIMMs is the... Read more...
Intel has maintained a relatively low profile at CeBIT this year in terms of new product announcements, but there are still plenty of Intel chips to be found at the expo. The chip maker is apparently looking to keep it that way for years to come, with Chairman Craig Barrett today urging the technology industry at large and nations around the world to "innovate and invest" in order to boost economic development and solve global challenges. Speaking to an audience at CeBIT 2009, Barrett -- who has announced his intentions to retire in May -- firmly stated that innovation and technology were "the backbone of the modern economy," suggesting that now is no time to stop innovating despite the softening... We have just received word (and images) that Corsair is showing off a brand new, full-tower case at the CeBIT trade show in Hannover, Germany. We do not have all of the details just yet except to say that it should be available sometime in early Q2, and there is no official name for the product at the moment, but we thought you'd all like to check it out in the meantime...    As you can see, the case features a black finish--inside and out. A few other features of the case include four hot swappable external drive bays behind the door on the front, a unique airflow solution with ducting for each separate component (CPU, GPU, HDD), an integrated cable management system, plenty of... Gigabyte, which just unveiled its next generation AMD AM3 "Dragon" motherboard, has big plans for next week's CeBIT expo in Germany. Aside from showing its latest range of high performance, low working temperature motherboards featuring its proprietary Ultra Durable 3 Technologies, it's also planning a sneak peek at the first AMD platform DDR3 solution, known as the GA-MA790FXT-UD5P. Of course, they'll be plenty of AM3 and Core i7 motherboard demonstrations, most notably its flagship X58 mobo, the GA-EX58-EXTREME. Said board features its new Hybrid Silent-Pipe 2, which is described as a "fusion thermal solution that combines Gigabyte's proprietary screen cooling technology, external heat sink... Read more...
The CeBIT 2008 show is Germany's version of our CES, or Taiwan's Computex, only with a little wienerschnitzel thrown around and some Helles to wash it down; you get the idea.  As with many shows like these, lots of inside info is released and as yet announced products are often shown behind closed doors and sometimes even openly with a pause and a "oops" afterwards as if to say, they really didn't mean to do that.  In that vein this morning, Albatron steps up and tips their skirt in our general direction with this...    Though typically we would offer that we can neither confirm nor deny that these are in fact pictures of Albatron's... Anandtech has posted a very brief preview of what people can expect to see at this year's CEBIT tradeshow. Having flown to Taiwan ahead of the show to see what vendors would be marketing, Anand has a good idea of what the latest and greatest products will be. Unfortunately, it appears as though some platform info from AMD along with a new NVIDIA graphics card are the only bits of exciting news we'll see from CEBIT. Cebit is often a show with many industry launches, but this year appears to be a lot thinner than the recent past. The only major NDA to lift at Cebit will be the new NVIDIA video cards.... X-bit Labs reports that NVIDIA has confirmed that their next flagship GPU (G71) will be launched at CeBIT. This post is fueled by a report from DigiTimes where NVIDIA's own Paul Sun confirms the official launch date. Some industry players were a bit skeptical of a new GPU launch so soon after the GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB. However, as we witnessed with the extremely short lifespan of ATI's R520 GPU, vendors will do whatever they can to capture the performance crown. The fresh code-named G71 graphics processor and what is claimed to be the GeForce 7900-series product lineup are expected to be officially announced during CeBIT show that is held in Hannover, Germany from March 9th to March 15th, according...
