Motorola Moto X Pure Edition Review: Straight-Up Premium Android

Performance: GPU

To get a feel for how graphics performance on the Moto X Pure Edition compares to other devices, we used GFXBench, which has been one of our standard graphics performance benchmarks for a while. In order to ensure Vsynch and resolution isn’t a limiting factor, we compare offscreen test results. We also used Futuremark's 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited benchmark.

From a gaming standpoint, it's clear that this particular device isn't cut out to handle the latest and greatest titles. It tends to line up with the graphics performance of last year's top-tier phones (like the Galaxy S5). If you don't mind somewhat lower graphics performance, this won't much matter. Remember, Moto's aiming this phone at the masses, and it'll run the mainstream games that most people play just fine.

It's a similar story here. The GPU won't be the selling point on this device, though the graphical performance lines up nicely to last year's top mobile GPUs.
