Intel SSD 2500 Pro 240GB Solid State Drive Review

CrystalDiskMark Benchmarks

CrystalDiskMark is a synthetic benchmark that tests both sequential and random small and mid-sized file transfers using incompressible data. It provides a quick look at best and worst case scenarios with regard to SSD performance, best case being larger sequential transfers and worse case being small, random transfers.

The Intel SSD 2500 Pro 240GB drive trailed the competition in most of the CrystalDiskMark tests. We ran the tests using the incompressible data option, which has been somewhat of an Achilles Heel for SandForce SSD controllers.  However, the Intel SSD Pro 2500 clearly broke out in 4K write performance at shallow queue depths.
