HTC One M9 Review: Lollipop, Octa-Core Snapdragon, Boomsound Impress

Performance: GPU

To get a feel for how graphics performance on the One M9 compares to other devices, we used GFXBench, which has been one of our standard graphics performance benchmarks for a while. In order to ensure Vsynch and resolution isn’t a limiting factor, we will compare offscreen test results. We also used Futuremark's 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited benchmark.

The HTC One M9 crushed every other phone we threw at it in these tests. Of course, other handsets with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 are bound to offer similar figures, but kudos to HTC for getting this to market in a timely fashion.

This Ice Storm Unlimited test places a significant amount of sustained strain on a phone's CPU and GPU, and the One M9 handled it with poise. Graphics were buttery smooth throughout the tests, and as you can see from the eye-popping scores above, this phone has the innards needed to plow through today's hottest (and most demanding) titles.
