Corsair XMS Xpert RAM

In this next round of benchmarks, we re-ran the Memory performance module built-into Futuremark's PCMark04 with each set of modules overclocked to their maximum stable clock speed, with the tight 2-2-2-5 timings.

Performance Comparison with PCMark04
Overall Memory Score

We saw similar increases in performance with PCMark04's memory performance module. With the Corsair XMS Xpert sticks overclocked to DDR440, their PCMark "score" jumped by 300+ points. The score was a little behind the Pro sticks, but the performance different was miniscule and falls within the margin of error in this test.

System Memory Affects Framerates?  You Betcha!

We continued testing these modules with our custom low-resolution Doom 3 test while the systems were overclocked as well.

Overclocking the Corsair XMS Xpert sticks increased performance in our custom Doom 3 multi-player benchmark as well.  The 20MHz clock speed bump, boosted the Xpert's framerate by 6.5 frames per second.  The Pro sticks enjoyed a slightly larger boost, but again the performance delta was very small.
