ATi Radeon X700 XT - ATi's Answer To The GeForce 6600

Overclocking The ATi Radeon X700 XT
Making Fast Faster...

Checking core and memory clock headroom of the new X700 XT, we have some quick overclocked benchmarks for you at the card's highest stable speed we could achieve.

We achieved a 47MHz gain in the core engine speed and a 120MHz boost in memory interface speed using Entech's PowerStrip utility v3.53.df.  In Doom 3 we realized a solid 15% gain, and in AquaMark 3 we achieved about a 7% gain over stock X700 XT speeds.  The additional fill rate we gain by driving the X700 core this high certainly seems to be the place where additional performance can be garnered, with a bit of finesse.  The card proved very stable at these clock speeds, as well, completing several test runs of our Doom 3 Site3 map demo without so much as even a popping pixel.
