ASUS P5GDC-V Deluxe Vs. Soltek SL-915GPro-FGR - Intel 915G Doubleshot
Gaming Performance with Wolfenstein and UT:2004
|
Another way we like to assess a motherboard's performance is by running a few popular gaming benchmarks. In this case we used Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Unreal Tournament 2004. With each benchmark, we reduced the image quality settings to minimize the effects of the video card on the results. This allows us to focus more on CPU and Memory performance with each test.
With Wolfenstein: ET, we reduced the image quality to 640x480x16 in-game and ran the popular TIMEDEMO 1. The ASUS P5GDC-V Deluxe posted a better overall score, topping the Soltek model by 10FPS. Still, both boards easily exceeded triple-digit results.
With UT2004 the gap between the two boards was a little over 2FPS in favor of the ASUS P5GDC-V Deluxe. Either way, both hovered in the 70FPS range, which is adequate for gaming with UT2004.
