Adtron announced that it is now shipping its new generation of Flashpak drives in both SATA and IDE interfaces in the 2.5" form factor. Here's a quick blurb:
Adtron has typically serviced aerospace, medical, and enterprise fields, however the release of this drive is very good news for the average Joe. It is likely that once some of the major players start developing and using such high density NAND devices, that trend is going to help drive down the price per GB on the desktop side. Then both hybrid drives and eventually full blown flash drives for the mainstream PC might become realities.
In the mean time, it looks like you have to be a surgeon or an astronaut to get in on the action.
