Microsoft first announced its new wireless Surface Earbuds back in October, but it wasn’t until earlier this month that it actually went on sale. The company originally stated that the Surface Earbuds would cost $249, but later revised that figure down to a more palatable $199. Although the lower price point and overall good audio quality has been a boon for new Surface Earbuds customers, there have unfortunately been some annoyances thrown in as well. Earlier this morning, we brought you news about Microsoft's upgraded Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3. However, that isn't all that the company had new for consumers; it also announced the Surface Headphones 2 and a lower price for its highly anticipated Surface Earbuds. Starting off with the Surface Headphones 2, Microsoft didn't feel that it needed to update the design, which is fine by us. Microsoft recently unveiled its Surface Earbuds for a while, and fans were looking forward to the devices. Microsoft has a webpage live for the Surface Earbuds, and the site gives up all the details on hardware and shows what they will look like when they land. However, Microsoft Surface chief Panos Panay announced this week that the product has been delayed. Panay explained via Twitter that making new products is about getting all the details right, which takes time. He went on to say that sometimes that takes more "time than we planned on." Microsoft unveiled a boatload of new hardware today and among the items were the Surface Earbuds. The Surface Earbuds are wireless and look like a flat, round disk when plugged into the ear. They promise to be lightweight offering an "ultra-comfortable" and stable fit. One key to the utility of the Surface Buds is their voice, touch, and gesture control. Voice control is enabled with the directional dual-mic array that also supports phone calls. The outside of the Surface Earbuds can be touched and tapped.
