Biometric security measures are improving all the time, though they are not infallible. This is demonstrated on the recently launched OnePlus 7 Pro. It has a fingerprint sensor that is embedded in the full-front display, and with a little bit of glue and a few minutes of time, it can be easily thwarted. Well, sort of. The process itself is rather simple. It basically entails creating a rudimentary mold of a fingerprint using aluminum foil, a dab of hot glue, and a little bit of Elmer's glue. It's a cheap hack, in other words, albeit an effective one on the OnePlus 7 Pro. Incidentally, the same method was proven to work on the previous generation OnePlus 6T. YouTube channel Max Tech demonstrated... Read more...
OnePlus today officially revealed its latest flagship smartphone, which is powered by the hottest mobile SoC on the planet right now: the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. The OnePlus 7 Pro is a powerhouse flagship that has enough muscle and features to take on the best that its Android competitors have to offer, while offering a price that is hard to beat. This beast of a smartphone pairs the Snapdragon 855 with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of ultra-fast UFS 3.0 internal storage. Up front, you have a nearly bezel-free display design thanks to the fact that the OnePlus 7 Pro uses a motorized pop-up 16MP selfie camera that hides away when not in use. The pop-up mechanism presents in 0.53 seconds and is... Read more...
OnePlus has been talking up the unreleased OnePlus 7 Pro, though most of the chatter up to this point has been centered on the display—Pete Lau, CEO at OnePlus, has promised it will be "super smooth and very crisp." But in addition to having a fancy OLED panel, we now know the OnePlus 7 Pro will also feature faster UFS 3.0 storage. This was also confirmed by Lau, who stated on Twitter that UFS 3.0 storage on the OnePlus 7 Pro will "give you [a] next level #fastandsmooth experience." "OnePlus 7 Pro having UFS 3.0 storage means it’ll just be overall faster than comparable smartphones." Yes, the OnePlus 7 Series will include UFS 3.0 to give you next level #fastandsmooth experience. 😎... Read more...
We’re just a few weeks away from the official launch of the OnePlus 7 family of flagship smartphones, but the leaks have been coming in at a rapid pace. Today, we’ve got a clear look at the OnePlus 7 Pro in two different colors: Mirror Grey and Nebula Blue.  The images, which show the smartphone from the front and the back, confirm the notch-less display, which is made possible by a pop-up selfie camera. Also clearly visible are minimal bezels around the display and the inclusion of an in-display fingerprint reader; a holdover from the OnePlus 6T.  Out back, we get a glimpse at the triple rear cameras, which is an upgrade from the dual cameras on the OnePlus 6T.... We now have a date for the official unveil of the OnePlus 7 Series of smartphones. OnePlus has been teasing the release of its next-generation flagship for the past few weeks, and now it has confirmed that it will reveal all on May 14th at 11am EST, less than a month from now. OnePlus is promising that this will be “our greatest launch event ever” and that it “marks the pinnacle of our dedication to craftsmanship and passion for creating breakthrough technologies.” The tagline for the event is “Go Beyond Speed,” so we should expect to hear quite a bit about innovative new features rather than the usual drumbeat about faster performance year-over-year (which... We know OnePlus is readying a new flagship handset, and specifically the OnePlus 7, because there have been a bunch of leaks pointing to that fact. That includes leaked renders. Interestingly, however, some of the renders we have seen might actually be of a higher end OnePlus 7 Pro model that will launch alongside the regular OnePlus 7. Source: Twitter via @OnLeaks There could even be a third model, a OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, which as the name implies would offer 5G connectivity. We would say it is even very likely, based on a recent post by famed leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, otherwise known as @OnLeaks on Twitter. #OnePlus May 14th launch event: #OnePlus7 ≈ 6.4" flat display / waterdrop notch... We’ve been hearing for quite some time that OnePlus is not only working on a follow-up to the OnePlus 6T, but also a 5G variant that would serve as the flagship of the company’s smartphone family. Today we’re getting our first glimpse at what is allegedly the OnePlus 7 Pro, the company’s first 5G smartphone. Images of the device popped up on Weibo, and they show a device with curved display edges along the side and overall slim bezels. There are also no visible notches or punch hole cutouts, which has us wondering what OnePlus is going to do with the selfie camera. The most obvious design choice in this case would be a slider mechanism, but that is pure speculation... Read more...
