We have sung the praises of the OnePlus 7 Pro here at HotHardware before, and OnePlus is luckily running a Black Friday promotion that is knocking a big chunk off the flagship smartphone's price tag. OnePlus is already known for attractive pricing for its Android smartphones, so this particular configuration’s $699 price tag was already among the lowest for devices in its class. However, today's Black Friday sale sees the OnePlus 7 Pro discounted by $150, which brings its price down to an incredibly hot $549. Unfortunately, that price will only get you the Mirror Gray model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Almond and Nebula Blue colors are currently out of stock,... Read more...

OnePlus’ OxygenOS 10.0 features a new UI design and more control over location permissions, a greater variety of customization options, and refreshed gaming experience. Users will be able to customize the clock style, fingerprint animation, and wallpaper on their lock screen and choose from three preset display themes. You will also be able to learn information about your music, calendar, or local... Read more...
We've seen renders and real-life images of a new OnePlus 7T Pro that is allegedly coming later this year, but it appears that OnePlus has another smartphone in the works as well. OnePlus is known for packing a lot of features into its phones for hundreds less than the competition, and this new phone is confirmed to be cheaper than the OnePlus 7 Pro while keeping one of its defining features. The current OnePlus 7 Pro starts at $669, but OnePlus CEO Pete Lau says that this new device will be even more affordable. He didn't get into specifics, but maybe we'll see a device that dips back below the $600 price point? Lau did confirm, however, that even though this device will be cheaper,... Read more...
OnePlus has made a name for itself for its steadfast mission to deliver flagship smartphones to customers with value pricing. The most recent example of this is the OnePlus 7 Pro, which offers Snapdragon 855 muscle and a notch-less display for hundreds less than the competition from Apple and Samsung. One other “plus” of going with OnePlus has been the company's close relationship with Google in getting users quick access to Android updates -- that even extends to beta versions of Android Q (now officially called Android 10). OnePlus just announced today that its OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro smartphones are getting the Android 10 Developer Preview 5, which was released a few weeks... Read more...
Sprint is going all-in with 5G wireless connectivity, and has announced that it will make available a fourth 5G-compatible device for its network. The fourth-place wireless carrier – which will soon merge with third-place T-Mobile – already sells the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, LG V50 ThinQ and the HTC 5G Hub. The fourth device will be an unnamed smartphone from OnePlus. The most obvious device that Sprint could introduce is the already announced OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G looks largely identical to its OnePlus 7 Pro counterpart, including its Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, 6.67-inch 90Hz display, 4000 mAh battery and 256GB of internal storage. The primary... Read more...
Wait a second, didn't OnePlus just release the OnePlus 7 Pro? Well, things move quickly in the smartphone realm, and OnePlus is an OEM that iterates on a lightning-fast schedule with new devices. So, it shouldn't come as a surprise that we're hearing word of an upcoming OnePlus 7T Pro that could be released before the year is up. Images of this alleged OnePlus 7T Pro were posted to the Chinese social media website Weibo, and don't really give much away in terms of appearances. From what we can tell, not much (if anything) has been changed with regards to its display or the pop-up selfie camera mechanism (which is wicked cool to see in operation). Most of the design details surrounding the phone... Read more...
We have no qualms recommending the OnePlus 7 Pro as it currently exists—it combines a killer display with a 90Hz refresh rate, with high-end hardware and excellent camera performance, all at a price point that is easier to swallow than some competing flagship Android phones.  As good as the phone already is, however, an upcoming firmware update is going to add some nifty new features. The feature we are most excited about is video recording support getting added to the ultra-wide camera. This could be a game changer for some folks, and has been a widely requested upgrade. For OnePlus 7 Pro owners who have been pining for ultra-wide video recording, the OnePlus team confirmed that the... Read more...

The OnePlus 7 Pro is one of the most highly anticipated Android phones to hit the market this year for a number of reasons. At first blush, it was about a few stand-out specs. The phone's 6.7-inch display supports a speedy 90Hz refresh rate and a super-tight 3120x1440 QHD+ resolution in punchy, HDR10+ certified OLED technology. The new OnePlus phone is also powered by the fastest Qualcomm chip on the market currently, the Snapdragon 855, but it's also backed up but up to 12GB of RAM as well as up to 256GB of snappy new UFS 3.0 based Flash storage. Oh, and the aforementioned display is not marred by either a notch, nor a bullet-hole punch-out for its front facing camera -- nothing, nada, just... Read more...
A new color option is available for the OnePlus 7 Pro, just do not call it gold. OnePlus is calling it "Almond," and announced on Twitter earlier today that it is coming soon. How soon? A couple of weeks, apparently—the new OnePlus 7 Pro Almond is available to order now starting at $699, and is listed as shipping "within 14 days." Thoughtfully designed and expertly crafted. Embrace the elegance of the #OnePlus7Pro Almond soon. pic.twitter.com/orTDo8zpmb — OnePlus (@oneplus) June 11, 2019 As of this moment, the OnePlus 7 Pro in Almond is only available with 8GB of RAM paired with 256GB of onboard storage. It is an interesting arrangement of colors and specs, consisting of the following... Read more...
Consumers all around the world have adopted affordable smartphones by the masses as the price of high-end devices pushes ever higher. One of the brands seeing demand increase is OnePlus, and this month it launched its new flagship device called the OnePlus 7 Pro. Almost as soon as users got their devices in hand, reports began to flood in on Reddit and OnePlus' support forums that the smartphone was suffering from a bizarre phantom touch issue. The issue presents as the screen of the device randomly responding to touches that aren't there that some have dubbed "phantom" or "ghost" touches. Users on the OnePlus support forum have been running the CPU-Z app on their devices to see if their smartphone... Read more...
Biometric security measures are improving all the time, though they are not infallible. This is demonstrated on the recently launched OnePlus 7 Pro. It has a fingerprint sensor that is embedded in the full-front display, and with a little bit of glue and a few minutes of time, it can be easily thwarted. Well, sort of. The process itself is rather simple. It basically entails creating a rudimentary mold of a fingerprint using aluminum foil, a dab of hot glue, and a little bit of Elmer's glue. It's a cheap hack, in other words, albeit an effective one on the OnePlus 7 Pro. Incidentally, the same method was proven to work on the previous generation OnePlus 6T. YouTube channel Max Tech demonstrated... Read more...
OnePlus today officially revealed its latest flagship smartphone, which is powered by the hottest mobile SoC on the planet right now: the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. The OnePlus 7 Pro is a powerhouse flagship that has enough muscle and features to take on the best that its Android competitors have to offer, while offering a price that is hard to beat. This beast of a smartphone pairs the Snapdragon 855 with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of ultra-fast UFS 3.0 internal storage. Up front, you have a nearly bezel-free display design thanks to the fact that the OnePlus 7 Pro uses a motorized pop-up 16MP selfie camera that hides away when not in use. The pop-up mechanism presents in 0.53 seconds and is... Read more...
OnePlus has been talking up the unreleased OnePlus 7 Pro, though most of the chatter up to this point has been centered on the display—Pete Lau, CEO at OnePlus, has promised it will be "super smooth and very crisp." But in addition to having a fancy OLED panel, we now know the OnePlus 7 Pro will also feature faster UFS 3.0 storage. This was also confirmed by Lau, who stated on Twitter that UFS 3.0 storage on the OnePlus 7 Pro will "give you [a] next level #fastandsmooth experience." "OnePlus 7 Pro having UFS 3.0 storage means it’ll just be overall faster than comparable smartphones." Yes, the OnePlus 7 Series will include UFS 3.0 to give you next level #fastandsmooth experience. 😎... Read more...
