Android 9 Pie was first released to the public on August 6th 2018, and was quickly made available for production devices including Google's own Pixel smartphones and OnePlus devices. However, the largest smartphone OEM in the world has been extremely slow with its public rollout of the major OS update. One would think that unlocked versions of Samsung devices would be among the first to receive Android 9 Pie, as they don't have carrier bloatware attached, but that just hasn't been the case for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. Samsung is prepping a software update for its Galaxy Note 9 and a few other high-end handsets, though what it has in the works is more than just a new build of Android. In addition to doling out Android 9 Pie, it's readying a final build of its recently announced One UI, which the company says "helps you focus on what really matters most." Unless you've been living under a rock, then you know that Samsung is working on a folding smartphone that will be released in 2019. Today, at the Samsung Developer Conference, the South Korean company gave us our first look at the device, and it's quite interesting. Samsung has announced new display technology, which it calls Infinity Flex Display. When folded, there is what Samsung calls a Cover Display. In this orientation, the phone is pretty much like any other smartphone giving you a full touch screen in a portrait orientation.
