If there weren't such tragic events leading up to the unprecedented court case involving Apple, the FBI and DOJ, the whole San Bernardino iPhone government access affair might look like a complete comedy of errors at this point. The San Bernardino gunman's locked iPhone could indeed reveal...

Wondering what John McAfee is up to these days? It's not sniffing bath salts nor is he fleeing foreign countries as a person of interest in a murder investigation and faking heart attacks—been there, done all that—instead he's on a mission to save America. How so? By cracking the code on that San Bernardino iPhone...

Ever since Tim Cook took over the reigns as CEO of Apple in 2011, the mild-mannered man from Alabama seemed quite the polar opposite of the late and great Steve Jobs. Whereas Jobs was often brash and had a knack for using incisive language to skewer opponents, Cook often takes a more measured approach and is by far...

Adobe acknowledged that it muffed an update to its Creative Cloud Desktop application last week, one that caused it to delete files on a "small number" of Mac systems. Once it became aware of the issue, Adobe pulled the plug on the update and has since made another one available for both Mac and Windows systems...

Apple offered a logical explanation as to why iPhone 6 users might see the dreaded "Error 53" code on their smartphone after having an unauthorized repair person replace a defective screen, but will that explanation hold up in court? A class action lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of...

It's a terrible feeling to break your phone. I once sat in a jacuzzi for a full 30 minutes before I realized that my iPhone 4s was in my pocket (yes, my swimming trunks at the time had pockets)—oops! No amount of time spent in a tub of rice could save it at that point, though luckily I had ponied up for accidental...

To outsiders looking in, it might seem as though Apple devices sell themselves. That isn't really the case, and if you pay attention to Apple's quarterly earnings reports, you'll notice that no matter how well the company performs, its stock price drops at the slightest hint that a particular product line or service...

Google might be taking a page from its rival and changing the way it operates in the mobile phone space, at least on the manufacturing side. That distinction belongs to Alphabet, the recently formed parent company of Google, which reached a market capitalization of $570 billion during after-hours trading last night. That figure has fallen a bit after the opening bell this morning, but at $538...

If you look back at Apple's product launches, you'll notice that each new generation of a particular device boasts a standout feature or two that gets touted above all the rest—3D Touch, bigger displays, and Siri are a few examples. Looking ahead to 2017, and presumably the iPhone 8, wireless charging could be one of...

Now, Apple is joining the fray by recalling certain power adapters that shipped with...

Apple still hasn't admitted that it's planning to release its own brand of electric vehicle in the near-future, but it's a secret to no one at this point that it's going to happen - barring some unforeseen occurrence, of course. In October, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that a "massive change" would be coming to the auto...
