Howdy Ya'll! The day after a blizzard is the perfect day to do nothing, really, every brain cell has stopped. I was barley able to crawl myself over to the computer, and work these unwilling hands. I've got a wood stove and football is on TV, can you blame me? Dell 2005FPW 20" LCD Review @ Mikhailtech "My model has significant backlight bleeding from the top right, top left, and bottom right corners. I didn't notice this at all until I previewed the "Blank Screen Saver" included with Windows XP in a slightly lit room. In virtual darkness (with the exception of a blue LED in my computer to the monitor's right), it became very noticeable. Looking at pictures of the issue online,... Read more...
The news is moving at a slow crawl this weekend, but have no fear, it will be back to normal once the week starts. Heh, yesterday a friend brought over his computer because it wasn't working... well come to find out it stopped working when his CPU Fan broke, and he used the computer any ways... while it was overclocked ;) As dumb as it sounds, he's still fairly new to computers and only used it to finish a school report. However this was unlike the time another customer had his CPU Fan stop working, I told him not to use it, and he insisted he had to because of a Pogo.com tournament he had to play in... now that is good stuff :D Hardware [M]adness in 2004: a Recap @ Madshrimps "The year... Good morning friends, welcome back to HH :)  The news front is moving at a pretty steady pace this AM.  So, keeping this short, sweet; here is your first shot of juice for the day...  BigBruin.Com Review: Seasonic Power Angel Power Monitor "Seasonic has sent over one of their newest items for review, but this time around it is something other than a power supply. The Power Angel is a compact diagnostic tool which allows users to monitor power consumption of just about any 110V device. Ever wonder how much juice your high-end PC is drawing? Or much money that air conditioner is costing you every month? The Power Angel power monitor is just the device to let you know."... Read more...

Never before has there been such a level playing field when it comes to higher-end graphics cards.  This year, both ATI and NVIDIA have pulled out all the stops, offering the most powerful gaming solutions ever.  While we could split hairs with frame rate measurements, in the end, both companies have cards to play anything available today and probably for some time as well, with the ability to render in excellent image quality that is virtually indistinguishable from the other.  When it comes to marketing these newer cards, however, it takes some more creativity to make one stand out over the other.  Since performance and image quality have reached a relative degree of parity,... Well, the weekend may be just around the corner, but there's a lot of folks cranking out the reviews before it starts.  There is a ton of stuff to go through today, so let's get down to business! NVIDIA's GeForce 6800 and 6800 GT GPUs review @ Hexus.net: "What strikes me most is the performance difference the entire range of product from both IHVs has over the outgoing generation of parts. They all make 9800XT and 5950 Ultra look very very silly indeed. Something for everyone from £200 upwards." Shuttle's XPC SB81P review @ Hexus.net: "It's unappealing with the GMA900 on-board video, so wait for PCI Express graphics cards to appear, pick your CPU and GPU poison, then... Read more...
Good morning all.  It looks like we've got a fair amount of news for you this morning, with a number of sites hard at work on some interesting reading.  We've been pretty busy this week as well, with some nice treats on tap for you.  I've also been toying with the idea of writing a few guides for our newbie friends, to help them with the various facets of building and using their rig.  What I'd like is some feedback from our readers letting me know what you would find most helpful.  So if there is something you would like covered, please drop a quick line and let me know! Good afternoon everyone :)  After a demanding day at work, the women friend has decided that we should go out for dinner and a movie.  I think a few glasses of wine, some tasty Italian food and a good action flick should calm the nerves.  But, before we leave *smacks lips*, I think I am in the mood for a piping hot appetizer of juice? Mmmmm.... warm juice..... ;) Thermaltake Extreme Spirit @ HardwareHounds.com "Just when you think you have your system running at peak efficiency, something comes along that makes you rethink the way everything runs. That was our case when we got our hands on Thermaltake's Extreme Spirit North and South bridge cooler. Truth is, so much emphasis... Read more...
Good evening brothers and sisters :)  The Ol'News Jockey is still not feeling on top of his game today, so nothing terrible exciting happened in my world.  I have basically been veging-out in front of the computer with my new game, FarCry.  If you have yet had a chance to pick up a copy/download the demo, go do so, it is one sweet game.  Below, I have attached two images for your viewing pleasure :)    EE TIMES ARTICLE - Nichia, Sony sign blue laser licensing deal April 22, 2004 - TOKYO - A cross-licensing deal with Nichia Corp. will make Sony Corp. the second supplier of blue-violet laser diodes.
