It’s hard to avoid making comparisons to Apple’s iPhone when you mention the HTC Touch Diamond. Although they are very different phones running on different operating systems, the Touch Diamond is arguably one of the closest competitors in the U.S. market today to the popular iPhone in terms of unique touch controls, an attractive looking user interface, power and versatility. You'd never know we were in a worldwide recession by looking at the GPU market. According to numbers just released by Jon Peddie Research, the estimated number of GPUs shipped during the third quarter (Q3) of 2008 represent the "largest increase in quarter to quarter shipments in six years." In Q3, over 111 million GPUs shipped, which is a 17.8-percent jump from the second quarter (Q2) of 2008. In Q3 of 2007, 91 million GPUs shipped. Of the 111 million GPUs shipped in Q3, 61.9 million of them were classified as desktop GPUs. Interestingly, Jon Peddie Redearch reports that over one-third of systems currently shipping include more than one GPU. This does not necessarily mean, however, that over... Read more...
A few months back, Intel released the P45 Chipset -- at the time it was considered to be their mainstream offering, playing second fiddle to the X48 Express.  With official support of a 1333MHz FSB, PCI-E 2.0, ATI CrossFire, and support for both DDR2 and DDR3 memory, there's a lot of roads to go down with the construction of one of these boards, and MSI went down all of them.  MSI fleshed out a complete top-to-bottom assortment of  boards, which means that they have a P45 motherboard that suits just about every potential buyer's needs.  Two of these, the P45 Diamond and P45 Platinum are found towards the top end of their food chain, and we'll be taking a look at them today...... In May, Google Earth came to the browser, with a browser plug-in. It's great to be able to use a browser rather than have to install a separate app. Well, that may be something for the future, but at least for now, you can finally use Google Earth on your iPhone. You can download it from the App Store --- yes, for free. Peter Birch, Google Earth's product manager, said:"The idea of having Earth on a mobile device is something people dreamed of back to the Keyhole days and before. This is the first opportunity we've had to be able to deliver a great experience." The reference to Keyhole refers to the original software, which was originally called Earth Viewer, and was created by Keyhole, Inc,... Read more...

It's no secret that online gamers are crazy over MMORPGs in Asia.  Sometimes, it seems, as in this case, they are crazy period.A Japanese woman, 43, committed virtual murder after her virtual husband (yes, only in the world of the game Maple Story) virtually divorced her.  Yep, in reality, it was all a simulation, as is what she did next.Apparently she had acquired his password from one of his co-workers, so she logged into the game --- and deleted his avatar.  While some might say, "so what," she's been arrested on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data.BTW. Maple Story bills itself as the world's first side-scrolling MMORPG.  It's also... Read more...
