GeForce GTX 1660 - FarCry 5 And Final Fantasy Tests

Next up, we’ve got some benchmark scores from FarCry 5, the latest installment in the storied franchise. Like its predecessors, FarCry 5 is a fast-action shooter set in an open world environment with lush visuals and high graphics fidelity. The game takes place in a fictional county in Montana, where a cult has taken over control of the area. We tested all of the graphics cards here at multiple resolutions using Ultra Quality settings to see how they handled this recently-released AAA title.

We saw more of the same in the FarCry 5 benchmark, though things were really tight. Once again the GeForce GTX 1660 cards outran the Radeon RX 590 and GeForce GTX 1060 at 1440p. At 1080p, however, the 1660s sandwiched the RX 590 and performed almost identically.

Freshly Updated With DLSS Support
Deep Learning Super Sampling, or DLSS, is one of the GeForce RTX series’ stand-out features. When employed, DLSS should offer image quality on par with or better than other anti-aliasing techniques, but with a much smaller performance hit.

We only have DLSS scores on the GeForce RTX 2060 in the Final Fantasy XV benchmark, since the other cards don't support it, but that's neither here nor there. With the more mainstream GPUs running with TAA, the performance trend we've seen throughout much of this review rings true once again, and the GeForce GTX 1660s finish ahead of the Radeon RX 590 and GTX 1060 by a comfortable margin.
