Corsair TWINX2048-3500LL PRO

Benchmark Summary: Corsair's TWINX2048-3500LL Pro memory kit consistently performed at the top of the charts, thanks to the kit's combination of high capacity and low-latency. The Corsair TWINX2048-3500LL Pro memory kit also performed well in the overclocking category, hitting a reliable clock speed of 249MHz (DDR498) at 2.9v with relaxed timings.

In the past, opting for higher memory capacity usually meant sacrificing some performance, because higher density memory modules typically required more relaxed latency settings. The Corsair TWINX2048-3500LL Pro memory kit, however, seems to offer the best of both worlds. This kit offers a 2GB capacity, while running with relatively tight 2-3-2-6 timings. Sure, some 1GB kits can run at somewhat tighter 2-2-2-5 timings, but we'd take a 100% increase in capacity over a slight decrease in latency any day. The TWINX2048-3500LL Pro kit also features swank activity LEDs which will add some personality to any windowed system. About the only thing in regard this memory kit that could turn of some potential consumers is its price. The TWINX2048-3500LL Pro kit is currently available for about $310 on-line, which is significantly more expensive than some other 2GD DDR memory kits. You do get what you pay for though in our opinion, as the Corsair TWINX2048-3500LL Pro is one of the most impressive memory kits we've come across. We're giving Corsair's TWINX2048-3500LL Pro memory kit a 9.5 on the Heat Meter, along with a rare HotHardware Editor's Choice award.

Even before being exposed to the Commodore P.E.T. and later the Commodore 64 in the early ‘80s, he was interested in electricity and electronics, and he still has the modded AFX cars and shop-worn soldering irons to prove it. Once he got his hands on his own Commodore 64, however, computing became Marco's passion.
