Microsoft Tempts MacBook Users To Switch To Surface Pro Or Surface Book With A $650 Trade-Up Offer
Microsoft for a limited time is offering MacBook Air or MacBook Pro owners up to $650 off the purchase of a Surface Pro or Surface Book convertible if they trade-in their device. Microsoft is confident that Apple fans will appreciate the long battery life and added functionality that its Surface mobile devices have to offer.
“97% of people that have a Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book use on-screen touch input regularly,” writes Microsoft. “Surface owners tell us that they can’t imagine using a laptop without touch due to its ease and convenience. Surface fans use touch and pen to take notes at the click of the Surface Pen and go from idea to creation without having to hop between devices.”
Apple still contends that offering touch screen displays on notebooks and desktops is not ergonomic, nor is it needed. However, Apple has gone with somewhat of a compromise with its new Touch Bar for the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro.
Owners of 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Airs along with 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros are eligible for this trade-in offer. To determine how much your current Mac is worth, visit Microsoft’s validation site and select your model. If you agree to the offer value, you’ll ship your MacBook to Microsoft. Once they receive it and confirm its condition, a promo code will be emailed to you which you can use to purchase a new Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book.
Microsoft trade-in offer promotion is open until November 10th.
Earlier this week, Microsoft unleashed an upgraded version of the high-end Surface Book i7 complete with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M GPU and 30 percent greater battery life. Microsoft says that the Surface Book can now last up to 16 hours per charge. The Surface Book i7 starts at $2,399 with a 256GB SSD and 8GB RAM. If you want a 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM, that will set you back $3,299.
