That price will get you a 6.6-inch Full HD+ (2340x1080) AMOLED 10-bit HDR panel with a speedy 120Hz refresh rate. This refresh rate can be adjusted from 60Hz to 120Hz on command from Settings, and can even be set on a per-app basis. Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm's current top dog SoC: the Snapdragon 855+. This beastly chip features boosted CPU and GPU clocks compared to garden variety Snapdragon 855 chips that you might find in devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 or the OnePlus 7 Pro.
ASUS has included a generous 12GB of LPDDR4X memory onboard, which should be plenty for even your most intense gaming and applications, along with 512GB of speedy UFS 3.0 storage. Given all of the potent hardware packed into the smartphone, ASUS has boosted the battery capacity from 4000 mAh on the original ROG Phone II to a much more capacious 6000 mAh with the ROG Phone II. Even in graphically-intense game like PUGB Mobile, ASUS says that the smartphone should give you over 7 hours of runtime with a full charge.
Other features of mention include a 30-watt USB-C fast charger in the box, two USB-C ports (one on the bottom, one on the side) to make charging while gaming more convenient and an optional AeroActive Cooler II that attaches to the back of the phone to keep it cool under extreme gaming conditions. Other optional accessories include a Mobile Desktop Dock, Kunai GamePad, and TwinView Dock II.
If that wasn't enough, the ROG Phone II includes a pair of Air Trigger shoulder buttons that can be configured for use in your favorite games along with dual, front-firing stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra audio support.
The ASUS ROG Phone II can be purchased today from retailers like Amazon at the aforementioned price of $899. If you're a Prime member and order today, you'll have the phone on your doorstep on Thursday. The device is also available direct from the ASUS Store and from B&H Photo.
