Destiny 2 recently arrived on the PC, following its successful console launch on September 6 of this year. The original installment in the franchise was a console-exclusive title, despite petitions and pleading from PC gamers to port the title over to Windows. That makes Destiny 2 the first time PC gamers get to use their inner-Guardian to shoot, Sparrow-ride, and loot their way through Bungie’s open-word, action-RPG franchise. In Destiny 2, you are a “Guardian”, a mortal being who has been granted incredible abilities after receiving the Traveler’s Light. Choosing from three distinct class... Read more...
It is pretty amazing to think that World of Warcraft, arguably the most popular MMORPG of all time, is still going strong 13 years after its debut. Exactly how strong is not known—Blizzard no longer shares subscriber numbers, but there are enough users to warrant releasing another expansion for its lucrative gaming franchise. The developer/publisher shared more details at BlizzCon about its next WoW expansion, Battle for Azeroth. The next expansion is a return to basics for WoW. It is the sixth major expansion, and will pit the Alliance and Horde against each other in all-out warfare, bringing... Read more...
If you haven't been paying attention to the StarCraft world lately, it may be easy to think that StarCraft II - the game that came out seven years ago - may be winding down. Of course, we'd have to ridicule you for having such thoughts, because this is Blizzard we're talking about, and its games have some true staying power. There's also the fact that Blizzard has since released three full-fledged expansion packs, with the final one, Nova Covert Ops (split into three mini packs), wrapping things up last November. Blizzard now feels that the time is right to make the game free-to-play.... Read more...

Blizzard seems to have struck gold with Overwatch, which attracted 10 million gamers within a month of launching. It has only grown since then, and unfortunately there are always going to be jerks in big crowds who try to ruin the fun for everyone else. Overwatch has a problem with toxic players, one that Blizzard has been trying crack down on. In case anyone though Blizzard would slow down its effort to thwart bad behavior in Overwatch, game director Jeff Kaplan explained in YouTube video what efforts are being done. "So as you guys know we recently added the reporting feature, which existed before... Read more...

It is said that hindsight is 20/20, and with the benefit of being able to look back, Blizzard realized that its plan to transition away from the Battle.net brand of its online gaming service was a mistake. Of course, the online community is also great at pointing out mistakes. As Blizzard quickly learned, there is too much history behind the Battle.net name to toss it aside, and so it has decided to bring it back. "Battle.net is the central nervous system for Blizzard games and the connective tissue that has brought Blizzard players together since 1996. The technology was never going away, but... Read more...
We’re well into the summer season, which means that many folks are enjoying fun in the sun and taking trips to the pool (or the beach) to unwind. The developers over at Blizzard are getting in on the action as well with the Summer Games event for its wildly popular Overwatch gaming title, and it is now live. If you remember the Summer Games event from last year, then you know the drill for the current. There are a number of new skins available for your favorite characters. For example, Soldier 76 commits the ultimate sin by donning cargo shorts and a Hawaiian shirt (which isn’t so bad), but adds... Read more...
For all of life's mysterious, there is one simple trick to everyone living in harmony. Simply put, don't be a jerk. No really, it's that simple. Of course, sometimes you wouldn't know it when playing an online multiplayer game, such as Overwatch. That is something that bothers Blizzard and goes against its "Play nice; play fair" way of approaching things, and so it's going to dole out some tough love in the form of stiffer penalties. Blizzard issued the warning in a blog post while emphasizing in bold letters that increased penalties to players in response to verified reports of bad behavior will... Read more...

Can you recall what you were doing in 1998, or even what PC you owned back then? For me, it was a system purchased from Sears with a Pentium MMX processor clocked at 200MHz inside. I had not gotten into the StarCraft craze like so many others, though the joke is on them—having waited nearly two decades, I can now legally grab a copy of StarCraft for free, along with the Brood War expansion. Image Source: Flickr (Daniel Garrido) Blizzard just released StarCraft and the Brood War expansion at no cost to anyone who cares to download one or both. What's the catch? There really is not much of one—Blizzard... Read more...
