Back in December, we took a deep dive with Lenovo's second-generation ThinkPad X1 Extreme. We came away impressed with the machine which was packing a 9th generation Coffee Lake-H processor, GeForce GTX 1650 graphics and a 15.6-inch 4K display.  Lenovo is a company that is always iterating, and now the company is launching the ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3, and it's embracing Intel's latest 10th generation Comet Lake-H processors, up to a Core i9 with vPro. Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 family has long been synonymous with excellent build quality and premium features; Over the summer, we were extremely impressed with the 7th-generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon's build quality, performance, and its bright 4K IPS display. This time around we're looking at the larger ThinkPad X1 Extreme, which shares a design aesthetic with its smaller sibling. Back in late August, Lenovo launched the ThinkPad X1 Extreme notebook, which took the X1 family to new heights with a large 15.6-inch display and 8th generation Core processors. Lenovo today has introduced the second-generation version of the ThinkPad X1 Extreme, and it brings more of a good thing for those looking for a mobile workhorse. This time around, the ThinkPad X1 Extreme has traded out the 8th generation Core processors for Intel's latest 9th generation Core i9 processors. Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 series of business-class laptops have long been staff favorites here at HotHardware, because in terms of fit, form, and functionally they just get things done. Lenovo is expanding its ThinkPad X1 family with the arrival of an even larger form-factor. Today, the company has announced the ThinkPad X1 Extreme, which touts a 15.6-inch display (a family first) and discrete graphics (also a first).  Starting with that 15.6-inch display; it's a 4K HDR panel with Dolby Vision support, 100 percent Adobe RGB coverage, and it is backed by a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MaxQ GPU.
