Let's face it, not everyone needs to purchase a nearly $1,000 flagship smartphone to make phone calls, send texts, and surf the internet. In fact, many of us could probably get by with a phone that costs a lot less, which is where Google's Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL come into play. Both the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL were introduced earlier this year priced at $399 and $479 respectively, making them roughly $400 less than their Pixel 3/Pixel 3 XL counterparts at the time. Now, Google Fi has restarted a popular promotion that it ran a few weeks ago on the smartphone pair. For a limited time, you can get the Pixel 3a for $299 with activation, which is $100 off its regular price.... Read more...
The Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL have been on the market for a few months as the entry level devices in Google's smartphone lineup. Best Buy has a good deal going on the Pixel 3a models that knocks a significant chunk off the purchase price if you're willing to activate the phone with a wireless carrier. Best Buy is offering $100 off both Pixel 3a models, and the only caveat is that the smartphones have to be activated today to get the $100 discount. Those willing to activate can get the Pixel 3a XL for $379.99. The device comes out of the box running Android 9.0 Pie for the OS, but is upgradable to Android 10. It's unlocked for all major carriers and runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor.... Read more...

Google's Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL have been on the market for just a short while, and both are making an impression in the smartphone market. The Pixel 3a family might not be as powerful as their Pixel 3 counterparts, but they deliver incredible camera performance, "good enough" everyday performance and value pricing that is hard to ignore. That value pricing for the Pixel 3a is part of the reason why Amazon is showing the Pixel 3a taking the top sales position for unlocked smartphones. Google priced the Pixel 3a at just $399, while the larger Pixel 3a XL can be had for $479. Although the Pixel 3a is relatively inexpensive compared to other Android flagships -- including the Pixel 3... Read more...
When's the last time you saw a full-featured smartphone launch for well under $500? There have been a few to hit the market in this price range recently, usually with significant caveats, but in general the trend is towards more expensive flagship devices that are commanding upwards of $1000 quite often. Google's new Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, however, buck this trend with HD OLED displays, big batteries, and the same great camera configuration that made Google's higher-end Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL the Android phones to beat, when it comes to smartphone photography. The new Pixel 3a is a 5.6-inch device, for folks who prefer their phone be a bit more pocketable, but the Pixel 3a XL sports a 6-inch... Read more...
Earlier this month Google launched its new mid-range Pixel 3a and 3a XL that went official after lots of leaks. Google was offering impressive trade deals to get users to upgrade with up to $600 off for the trade in of a high-end iPhone on the mid-range Google offerings. Reports are now coming in that the Pixel 3a and 3a XL are both having issues that are causing the phones to shutdown for some users. Users seeing the issue are reporting that the shutdowns occur randomly during the day and night when the device isn't in use. When the devices shut down, the screen won't turn on, and the only way the devices can be used again is to do a hard reset by pressing and holding the power button for about... Read more...

We've talked about Android Q before with its focus on privacy and a slew of other new features coming. Google is reportedly working on another new feature for Android Q that might not come to everyone. This feature is automatic car crash detection. References were found to the new feature in the Android Q Beta 3 Safety Hub app. A string in the app reads that the car crash detection function will "automatically launch an alert activity when the device detects you are... The launch of the Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL smartphones this week was no surprise. The devices had been leaked and rumored for months ahead of becoming official. The devices launched starting at $399 for the 3a and $479 for the Pixel 3a XL. Google wants to woo iPhone users to the Android side with these new smartphones, and is offering some trade-in deals on that could put some cash back in their pocket if they switch. It's hard to imagine owners of high-end devices like the iPhone XS Max moving to a mid-range device, but stranger things have happened. The trade deal for the iPhone XS Max is worth $610 if your device is in good shape. Traders with that deal could get a Pixel 3a XL... Read more...
This week, the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are the hottest talk of the internet, as they are the new mid-range smartphones from Google. With a starting price of $399 for the Pixel 3a and $479 for the Pixel 3a XL, both phones offer a nice balance of features, camera image quality, battery life... and actually include a 3.5mm headphone jack. Not surprisingly, it didn't take the folks at iFixit to take a scalpel to both the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL, and thankfully, both have modular components that are more readily accessible for replacement in case of failure. Unlike most smartphone which feature bodies made out of a combination of aluminum and glass, the new Pixel devices feature plastic... Read more...
Yesterday, Google announced its Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL mid-range smartphones which rock a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and the familiar two-tone design aesthetic (albeit with a plastic body). Best of all, the phones start at an incredibly reasonable $399 and $479 respectively, which has already been discounted by $100 thanks to a promotion running at Best Buy. For those that think that the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are just a stop-gap measure that will go by the wayside in the blink of an eye (think iPhone SE), Google is indicating that these more affordable Pixels are here to stay. Android Police was recently able to talk with members... The ink is barely dry on the announcement for Google's brand-new Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL mid-range smartphones, but a hot deal has already presented itself. Google revealed the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL priced at $399 and $479 respectively, which is already pretty reasonable pricing for these mid-range Android Pie smartphones. However, Best Buy is currently running a promotion that gives you a free $100 gift card with the purchase of either smartphone -- even unlocked models with no strings attached to a wireless carrier. If you buy an unlocked Pixel 3a/Pixel 3a XL, you don't even have to activate the device to get your $100 gift card. However, if you do return the phone for any reason,... Read more...

The annual Google I/O event is right around the corner, as in tomorrow, and Google is expected to announce a bunch of new stuff. One of those will be a beta of a new major build of Android, as is now customary at these events. But Google also has some new hardware on the horizon that we expect will be unveiled tomorrow. Here's what to expect. Android Q To start with, Android Q Beta 3 is bound for a launch at Google I/O 2019. Google rolled out the first beta for its Pixel phones in March, followed by a second beta in April. Those introduced things like better privacy controls, pop-up setting menus (similar to 3D Touch on iOS), and so forth. It's not clear what exactly the third beta of Android... Read more...
There have been a lot of rumors flying around about the upcoming mid-range smartphones from Google: the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. The cheaper devices are coming just in time for Google as its high-end Pixel devices have hit a sales wall. Best Buy locations are known for putting some devices out on shelves early giving a look at smartphones and other things we aren't supposed to see yet. The latest error comes from a Best Buy location in Springfield, Ohio. Someone at the store put three Google Pixel 3a XL smartphones into a cabinet early. The boxes show a smartphone design that looks just as we have seen in leaks in the past. Not much in the way of data on the smartphones can be gleaned from the... Read more...
