Make no mistake, connected cars are an emerging reality, and Apple wants to be there as early as possible. The Cupertino company is launching an in-car OS next week in a bid to help push cars into a new age where they use an operating system and are connected to services such as navigation, communication, video, and more. According to CNBC, Apple’s car OS will first be integrated with--what else--Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo vehicles. I'm not at all opposed to owning and driving a hybrid automobile, which is why if I ever have the means, I won't hesitate to buy a LaFerrari. Realistically, that's a pipe dream and is unlikely to happen, not just because of the price tag, but also because Ferrari only plans to build 499 of its new model car. It's already received twice as many requests, and for those who can afford one, it's easy to see why. LaFerrari looks nothing at all like a Prius or Volt or any other mainstream hybrid vehicle.
