Oh. My. Goodness. You might be having a bad day, but did you wake up to a tweet by Domino's Pizza making fun of you? Microsoft did, following the gameplay reveal of Halo: Infinite, an upcoming launch title for the immensely hyped Xbox Series X console that is due to arrive this holiday season (November or December), with Navi in tow. Gamers were not super impressed with the gameplay reveal, as it pertains to the graphics. The Xbox Series X is touted to arrive with plenty of horsepower, served up by custom AMD silicon based on the chipmaker's Zen 2 CPU cores and next-generation RDNA 2 graphics (Navi), with hardware support for real-time ray tracing. Instead of being blown away by the visuals,... Read more...
One day soon you may look up and say, "It's a bird...it's a plane...no, it's a pie in the sky!" That's because Domino's Pizza has partnered with Flirtey, a tech startup that specializes in delivery by drone, to launch the world's first commercial pizza-by-drone delivery program. The effort kicks off in New Zealand and from there, well, the sky's the limit. "Launching the first commercial drone delivery service in the world is a landmark achievement for Flirtey and Domino's, soon you will be able to order a Flirtey to deliver your pizza on-demand," said Matt Sweeny, CEO of Flirtey. "New Zealand has the most forward-thinking aviation regulations in the world, and with the new U.S. drone regulations... Read more...
It's hard to argue that one of the best things on planet Earth is pizza. Many people are up for eating pizza regardless of the time of day, and regardless of what flavor it is. Pizza is just amazing, and it holds the power to shut down entire promotional deals - as Domino's is finding out. Via its T-Mobile Tuesdays app, which rewards customers for their patronage, this week's deal proved to be a bit too much for dough spinners. To help its customers get their munch on, T-Mobile worked out a deal where its customers could get a free pizza pie, a deal which seems totally normal. But when the terms of the deal are not worked out properly, and you bring a mammoth fanbase in like T-Mobile has, it... Read more...
A wise person once said that those who don't innovate simply get left behind. We can't say for sure if that person was employed by Domino's, but the famed pizza company seems to be working overtime on next-generation tactics for selling pies. The latest story to focus on drones actually has nothing to do with Google nor the military -- it's about pizza. Of course, DomiCopter is just a pie-in-the-sky concept / promo stunt right now, but the most interesting part is that the concept could probably be executed with aplomb if the right engineers were put on the job. DomiCopter is a folksy drone that can (in theory) deliver pizzas to an address, and then fly back to home base. Domino's has stated... Read more...
Dominos Pizza has been experimenting with different forms of digitally ordering pizza in recent years.  It all started with opening a web-site to take online orders (something Papa John’s Pizza made quite popular), then moved on to the infamous /pizza command in EverQuest 2, and now has moved on to the wonderful world of SMS.The big question is just who is going to be the target audience for such a method.  It'd seem that anyone with an SMS-capable phone could just make a call, unless the phones at their local Dominos are too busy. “Yes, if you get a passion for pepperoni when the pubs throw out, just go to your phone and send a message. Your pizza will then arrive from one of Dominos' 470... Read more...
