However, Fossil still has over 200 R&D... Read more...
When Apple first announced the Apple Watch Series 4 back in September, it hailed the device as a big upgrade over its predecessor with larger displays across the board (with slimmer bezels), much faster S4 processor and integrated fall detection. In addition, despite the slight redesign to the smartwatch's exterior to accommodate the larger displays, the old 38mm and 42mm bands still work. But perhaps the most important feature announced with the Apple Watch Series 4 was its built-in electrocardiogram (ECG) for monitoring your heart rhythms and atrial fibrillation. Apple hyped this... However, many people updating to watchOS 5.1 found that instead of enabling new features and security update, the software instead bricked their smartwatches. What is Apple brewing up? The company recently sent out invitations to members of the media for their October 30th event in Brooklyn, New York. The media invites featured various Apple logo designs and promised that “there’s more in the making”. The October 30th event will likely feature other Apple products besides iPhones and Apple Watches, which were unveiled last month. Apple is working hard to position the new Apple Watch Series 4 wearable as a state of the art health monitoring device. Moving beyond the gadget and Apple fan crowd into the medical device and health monitoring market could certainly expand the reach of the wearable. Apple's latest watch has FDA approved EKG monitoring inside along with fall detection. The fall detection feature can dial out in an emergency for the elderly; that feature was recently tested by a stunt woman and found to function as promised. Apple has announced that it has teamed up with medical device maker Zimmer Biomet on a new... Read more...
Love it or hate it, each fall most of the U.S. and other locations around the world adopt daylight saving time where we "fall back" and lose an hour from our clocks until the spring rolls around. Owners of the Apple Watch Series 4 in Australia, where daylight saving time (DST) rolled out already, experienced a bug that had to do with the Infograph faces on the wearable. Owners found their wearable stuck in an endless reboot loop that was reportedly caused by the large Activity complication on the Infograph Modular face spazzing out thanks to the loss of an hour. The Activity complication is meant... Read more...

Earlier this month, the biggest update in the Apple Watch's relatively short lifespan was released in the form of the Series 4. The smartwatch officially went on sale this past Friday and as you might expect, teardown analysis of the device wasn't far behind. The folks at iFixit have put the Apple Watch Series 4 under the knife -- in this case, the larger 44mm version. While the Series 4 looks similar to the outgoing Series 3, it features a larger display with much smaller bezels resulting in over 30 percent more screen real estate. There's also a 64-bit, dual-core S4 processor inside the machine,... Read more...

Apple has announced the Apple Watch Series 4, and the company says that "everything about it has been redesigned and reengineered". The displays on both the 40mm and 44mm Apple Watches are over 30 percent larger than the previous generation. The larger displays mean that there're more room to present information including more customizable complications (up to 8).  The digital crown now features haptic feedback, while the speaker is now 50 percent louder (which is great for Siri feedback). The microphone has been moved to the opposite side of the device to keep it away from the speaker (to... Read more...
Apple is always worried about its suppliers leaking images and parts for its upcoming products, but in recent years, many of the most critical leaks have come from within. We saw this last year when nearly every detail/feature concerning the 2017 iPhone X were spoiled by a HomePod firmware leak. This time around, we're getting our first look at the premium OLED-equipped iPhones that will launch this year. 9to5Mac says that these images/renders are not mockups, and are straight from Apple. And according to the publication, both models will be called the iPhone XS. It appears that... Read more...
