CrystalDiskMark is a synthetic benchmark that tests both sequential and random small and mid-sized file transfers using incompressible data. It provides a quick look at best and worst case scenarios with regard to SSD performance, best case being larger sequential transfers and worse case being small, random transfers.

CrystalDiskMark shows some interesting things. Here, the T3 puts up some strong numbers in the sequential and large file transfer tests. And the T3 also does well with 4K transfers. Once the queue depth is increases, however, the limitation of the USB-C interface holds the drive back versus the SATA-based drives.
