Intel Core i7-5775C With Iris Pro Graphics Review: Broadwell For Desktops
Power Consumption Testing
Throughout all of our benchmarking and testing, we also monitored how much power our test systems consumed using a power meter. Our goal was to give you all an idea as to how much power each configuration used while idling and while under a heavy workload. Please keep in mind that we were testing total system power consumption at the outlet here, not just the power being drawn by the processors alone.

The Intel Core i7-5775C virtually sips power. With this 14nm Broadwell-based CPU in our test system it pulled only 35 watts from the outlet at idle, and that number went up to only 97 watts with the CPU under a 100% load. We should mention, however, that with the GPU also under load, peak power consumption jumps up into the 125w range. And while overclocked to 4.2GHz, we saw power jump all the way up to the 165w range.
