Kribibench 3D Modeling
Kribibench is a rendering benchmark produced by the folks at Adept Development. This test is based on an SSE aware software only renderer. A 3D model is rendered and animated by the host CPU, and the average frame rate is reported. We used two of the included models with this benchmark: an "Exploded Sponge" model consisting of over 19.2 million polygons and a huge "Ultra" model that is comprised of over 16 billion polys.
Here we've got some of the biggest differences yet. The Asus P5WD2 easily dominated the field, followed closely behind by the Intel i955X reference board. The nForce 4 SLI boards, which will be fighting with the i955X for a share of the Pentium market, have slipped to the back of the pack. Their performance in Kribibench was along the lines of the older i925XE chipset. If we're keeping score, that's one for the i955X based boards, and a nod to Asus for the P5WD2's double win.
