As the sequal to Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, Mafia II is a third person action adventure game, developed by 2K Czech. The game is set in 1943 and features a completely open map of ten sqare miles. Mafia II follows the rise of Vito Scaletta, who works with three different crime families to eventually become a made man. Using the demo, we ran the built in benchmark at 2560 x 1600, no AA, 16x aniso, and high image settings. PhsX was disabled for all cards. |
Mafia 2 results look odd because of the surprisingly low minimum frame rates reported by the benchmark. For the most part, the demo ran smooth using every card we tested so take the low minimum numbers with a grain of salt. With that said, the Matrix 5870 had an average frame rate of 54 FPS, only 4% slower than the GTX 480 Amp Edition, and 15% faster than the SOC GTX 470.
