XGI™ Announces theVolari™ Graphics Board Series
Taipei—September 27, 2004 —XGI Technology Inc, an innovative graphics chipsets supplier, today announced their Volari™ Graphics board series; a full line of graphic boards powered by the award winning Volari™ graphics processors to satisfy the full range of high-end, main stream, and entry level markets.

Volari™ V8, Volari™ V5, Volari™ V3XT, and Volari™ V3 offer the full breadth of performance from XGI. These products include high performance Volari™ graphics processors which target the enthusiast, high-end, mainstream and entry-level markets, respectively. Volari™V8 and Volari™V5 cover the high end users who require the 3D cinematic effect empowered by Microsoft Shader Model 2.0. These two products also have 4 and 8 sets of high performance pixel rendering pipelines for the maximum anti-aliasing images. The results of these technologies are better realism coloring, smoother curves, and more lively animations. Volari™ V3XT and Volari™ V3 are cost effective solutions for entry level clients.
In the mobile graphics space, XGI offers discrete and multi-chip-module (MCM) graphics processors that are all software compliant with the Microsoft(R) DirectX(R) 9.0 specification. We have the ZMAX (AP) here today that utilizes Intel's 865G chipset which we haven't used for a while now with the array of motherboards coming in utilizing the new 915 and 925 chipset from Intel."

"I've been pining after a quality aluminium chassis with a door for my ugly beige opticals, that's aesthetically pleasing to the eye (to my own tastes of course) and that doesn't break the bank. I think the Wave Master fits the bill. If you want something a little different and the plus points of the design and implementation are appealing, pick one up. I'll be replacing the sample with my own as soon as it has to go back, I can't give it a higher recommendation than that."

ATI Radeon X300 Reference PCI Express Videocard Review @ Tweaknews.net
"What I will be stating is that if you are moving to the new Intel LGA775 specification or the new Athlon64 PCI Express motherboard and you just need a basic 2D videocard, the X300 based alternatives on the market will make you more than happy. If you are even considering gaming, do yourself a favor and upgrade to an X600 if you want some decent playable framerates on any of the more recent or newly released games on the market."
