Google Pixel 3 And Pixel 3 XL Tipped For October 9 Unveil In NYC

Considering that nearly every detail about the Google Pixel 3 smartphone family has leaked at this point, it seems rather appropriate that the actual launch date would also be revealed ahead of schedule. According to a new report, the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be revealed at an event in New York City on October 9th.

For reference, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL were launched last year on October 4th. This news of the early October launch comes courtesy of Bloomberg, which slipped the information off-handily in its earlier piece on the 2018 Apple iPhone lineup. If Apple’s September release schedule sticks to previous years, the Google devices will debut just a few weeks later. The Google Pixel 3 will be among the last of the big Android flagship releases for 2018, with the other high-profile release tipped for Q4 2018 being the OnePlus 6T

On the specs front, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are expected to ship with 5.2-inch and 6.2-inch displays respectively (the latter of which will have a display notch). Powering these smartphones will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 process with an undetermined amount of RAM onboard. Other features on tap include a single rear camera and rear fingerprint reader (as was the case with its predecessors), wireless charging, a slightly smaller battery and a thinner body.

Google Pixel 3 family will be standard bearers for the new Android 9 Pie operating system.
