Where To Download Destiny 2 For Free On Your PC For A Limited Time

Have you been waiting for the right time to pounce on Destiny 2? Well, if you're ever going to take the plunge, now is the time to do it. Bungie and Activision announced at BlizzCon that Destiny 2 is free to download and play on PC, though you have to act relatively fast—it's a limited time offer that expires in a couple of weeks.

Destiny 2 is free to grab for the first two weeks of November, effective now until November 18. The caveat is that you need a Battle.net account, of course, and the offer is good for anyone who does not already own the game. Those who do already own Destiny 2 will receive an exclusive in-game emblem marking the game's one-year anniversary.

To be clear, this is for the base game, which you'll own even after the expiration period (provided you claim it before then). It doesn't include the DLC, and obviously Activision and Bungie are crossing their fingers that gamers will pony up for the Forsaken expansion after getting their feet wet in the main campaign. That said, all Destiny 2 players can try out the Gambit DLC this weekend.

"Bungie is giving all Destiny 2 players the opportunity to try out Gambit, the popular new mode introduced in this year’s expansion, Destiny 2: Forsaken. Gambit, a hybrid PvE and PvP 4v4 mode, will be available for trial as part of Bungie’s “Gambit Free Weekend” from November 9–11," Activision and Bungie said.

To claim Destiny 2, fire up the Battle.net app and click on the gift icon in the upper-right, as indicated above. This will bring up a pop-up window to claim the game—it's as easy as that. You can also sign into your Battle.net account online and claim it on the web.

The system requirements are pretty tame for Destiny 2. Here's a look at the minimum specs:
