Apple Confirms September 12th Keynote For iPhone 8 Flagship At Steve Jobs Theater
This is expected to be a packed event, as Apple will not only pull the wraps off the highly anticipated iPhone 8, but also new version of the Apple TV and Apple Watch. This will also be the launching point for Apple’s iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra releases.
But of course, most eyes will be on the iPhone 8, which is expected to feature a near bezel-less OLED display that is larger than iPhone 7 Plus, but with a form-factor that is only slightly larger than the iPhone 7. Other features on tap for the iPhone 8 include glass covering the back and front of the device, a steel frame, indicative charging, 10nm A11 Fusion processor, and an infrared camera for facial recognition. The physical home button is also expected to be replaced by a “gesture area” at the bottom of the display.
Apple is also rumored to the launch two additional iPhone models at the event: the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7 Plus. These devices will feature the same displays as their predecessors, but will have updated features and faster processors.
As for the other products that will be announced at the event, the Apple TV is expected to gain 4K HDR support, while the next generation Apple Watch will gain optional LTE connectivity for complete iPhone independence.
