Brandon received his first PC, an IBM Aptiva 310, in 1994 and hasn’t looked back since. He cut his teeth on computer building/repair working at a mom and pop computer shop as a plucky teen in the mid 90s and went on to join AnandTech as the Senior News Editor in 1999. Brandon would later help to form DailyTech where he served as Editor-in-Chief from 2008 until 2014. Brandon is a tech geek at heart, and family members always know where to turn when they need free tech support. When he isn’t writing about the tech hardware or studying up on the latest in mobile gadgets, you’ll find him browsing forums that cater to his long-running passion: automobiles.

Are moviegoers trying of a seemingly relentless stream of comic book movies headed to theaters? Early last month, Lexus wowed auto show attendees with its all-new LC 500, which manages to pack in a 467hp 5.0-liter V8 engine into a uniquely-styled coupe. The design of the LC 500 may not be for everyone, but you can’t deny that the vehicle is an eye-catcher (for better or worse). Although it wasn’t announced at... Read more...
Microsoft is actually starting to pick up a bit of steam with its Surface hardware. We’ve been talking about the Lumia 650 for months, but Microsoft has officially spilled the beans on its latest low-end smartphone. If previous reports are accurate, this will be the last smartphone to wear Lumia branding, and unfortunately, the storied phone line is going out with a whimper instead of a... Read more...
Picasa had a long run, but it’s time for the software application to say goodnight. Picasa came into existence over a decade ago in 2002, and became a popular destination for people looking to organize their vast library of photos and photos. This, however, was before “the cloud” took over for our mass storage needs... Read more...

Across the pond, the Campaigners Privacy International filed a formal complaint against the UK’s GCHQ... Read more...

In late January, Samsung kicked off the global launch of the Gear S2 Classic New Edition smartwatch. The Internet Archive back at it once again. Just a few days after sending us on a trip down memory lane with samples of DOS malware from the 80s and 90s, the Internet Archive is giving some much-needed love to Windows 3.1 — more specifically, the plethora of apps that were available for the platform. The non-profit... Read more...
