Ultrabooks continue to be the hot trend in the Windows notebook arena. With the recent introduction of Intel's new, low power 3rd generation Ivy Bridge Core series processors, designs are becoming thinner with every iteration, while paradoxically it seems, performance continues to scale higher.  We've seen Ultrabook machines from virtually all the majors here at HotHardware and many of them are targeted at consumers on the go where thin is in, and not so much the business user, where practical usability, durability and performance are critical.  Lenovo however, is stepping outside the box with the latest addition to their ThinkPad lineup for road warriors and cubical commandos alike.... LG and Verizon Wireless have brought the same display technology used in LG's premium HD televisions to a new smartphone dubbed the Spectrum. Featuring a 4.5-inch True HD IPS display and a resolution of 1280x720, the LG Spectrum uses Real Stripe subpixel arrangement which LG says is denser and 1.4 times sharper than the PenTile subpixel arrangement used on Super AMOLED displays.  The phone's display features a screen density of 329 pixels per inch to provide a sharp, crisp picture that shows fine details. The LG Spectrum features a Qualcomm 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S3 processor and connects to Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE network. The phone also supports 4G mobile hotspot capabilities... Read more...
Lenovo recently celebrated the milestone of selling 60 million ThinkPad notebooks. That's a ThinkPad for every person in the United Kingdom, to put it in perspective. Moreover, the PC maker claims these things sell like electronic hotcakes, to the tune of 14 per minute.  Those are iPad sort of rates.  But Lenovo doesn't reach these types of numbers by selling outdated hardware spruced up with brushed aluminum, and clever marketing. The company targets tech-savvy business consumers and home users who want light, durable notebooks that offer extended battery life built with the latest technology. The notebook we're reviewing today is an improvement over the original T410 we reviewed earlier... Read more...
There's little debate, if you took a poll of the notebook-toting business community, with respect to what the most popular workhorse machine has been over the past decade or more, the response would likely be the Lenovo (formerly IBM) ThinkPad.  Whether it's due to IBM and Lenovo's innovations over the years, like the venerable TrackPoint, having the first built-in wireless NIC, first built-in fingerprint reader for security, or the ThinkPad's undeniable reputation for durability and performance, it's obvious the ThinkPad line has earned its stripes with road warriors and casual portable computing users alike.  It almost sounds a little over-the-top actually but Lenovo is celebrating... Synopsis: The Lenovo IdeaCentre A600 is an all-in-one desktop with plenty of features and bells-and-whistles to keep all but the most jaded of users happy. Perhaps taking a page out of Apple's book, Lenovo put a lot of effort into the look and feel of the A600, with its black-colored chassis, borderless 21.5-inch 1920x1080 TFT display, curved back, and svelte form factor--measuring only 1-inch thick at its thinnest point. The A600 Series comes in a variety of configurations, which range in price from $679 to $1,399. The unit we looked at--the A600-30114BU--is at the top of the A600's food chain and comes with an impressive specification list that includes a 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor,... Read more...
Synopsis:  The Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds is a rather unique product, targeted squarely at mobile professionals who require the power, features, and performance of workstation-class machine on the go. We previously evaluated the standard ThinkPad W700 and praised the system for its performance and stand-out integrated features, like a Wacom Digitizer Tablet and X-Rite Color Calibrator. The ThinkPad W700ds takes all of the features offered by the W700 and ads a secondary, slide-out display, which increases monitor real-estate by 39%.The machine we received for evaluation was outfitted with 4GB of RAM, a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9300, an NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700 1GB GPU, and dual Hitachi hard... Synopsis:   Lenovo's IdeaPad S10 is a 10" Netbook that sports low power consumption, ultra-portability, respectable performance and a well rounded feature set. It's built on Intel's new low-power Atom processor. Taking on such challengers as Asus' Eee PC and the MSI Wind, Lenovo offers this svelte machine for a modest $399 entry price point.  While the S10's keyboard is a little cramped for a 10" netbook, we liked the machine's, build quality, fit and finish, and super-crisp LCD.Gallery:       Click for full view...
