Best Buy has been offering some very good sales over the last few months. Right before the Super Bowl, the electronics retailer had smoking deals on big screen TVs. Industry standards change over time, and eventually new technologies almost always take the place of old ones. If you're old enough to remember using 3.5-inch or even 5.25-inch floppy disks, you know what we're talking about. Microsoft held an event today to announce a refresh to its Surface family of hardware devices. While the company didn't announce anything close to a Courier-like dual-screen mobile device, it did announce updates to its Surface Laptop and Surface Pro. Starting off with the Surface Laptop 2, Microsoft has upgraded the internals with Intel's 8th generation Core processors. In addition, you're no longer relegated to 4GB of RAM on base system; that has now been doubled to 8GB, with top SKUs getting 16GB. Tomorrow, October 2, is the day penciled in for Microsoft's Surface event that will toss new hardware onto the market for fans to check out. Leaks have hinted at what the event would bring, including some leaked images of the Microsoft Surface 2 Laptop in several colors. A new rumor has surfaced ahead of tomorrow's event, and the news is a bit unexpected. Rumblings started back in June that Microsoft had some new hardware planned for 2019. Some were surprised when Microsoft sent out invites earlier this month to a hardware event that is suggested to be for the unveiling of new Surface hardware. One of the devices expected at that hardware event scheduled for October 2 is the Microsoft Surface Laptop 2. Ahead of that event, a slew of images has leaked that claim to be of the new laptop in its various colors.
