The Surface Laptop 2 has a starting MSRP of $999, which will get you an 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. However, Microsoft's current promo knocks $200 off that price, bringing the total down to $799. All other configurations (including the upgrade to a Core i7 processor or opting for a 256GB of larger SSD) will see the discount increase to $300.
For example, opting for a Surface Laptop 2 SKU with 16GB of RAM, a Core i7 processor and a 512GB SSD drops from $2,199 to $1,899. If you want to go all out and get the range-topping SKU that includes a 1TB SSD, your out of pocket price will be $2,399 instead of $2,699.
