Movies will likley retail from $9.99 to $19.99, while shows will be available for $1.99, or will be offered free with advertisements included. "Conroy said AOL's decision to charge for some programs is consistent with its desire to offer users choice - download-to-own offerings alongside free, ad-supported items. He said AOL is becoming one of... Read more...
ECS has been stepping up to the plate lately with solid offerings for the Computing Enthusiast. We took a look at their C19-A board as well recently and found it pretty spiffy. Overclockers Online thinks so too... The ECS C19-A motherboard is great motherboard for those looking to build a new system without spending too much money. The performance compared to the 975X is slim, both Intel and nVidia flip flop between first place. Microsoft has decided to extend it's XBox Live service to multiple platforms under the name "Live Anywhere". The new system will integrate Microsoft's Windows Vista with cell phones, and their gaming consoles. "In a demonstration, an Xbox 360 gamer using Live Anywhere was able to send an invitation to a friend on a PC. After the PC user agreed, the two connected for a cross-platform online gun battle." No, the company isn't going anywhere, but it's formal name is gone, and the company is to be simply known as "AOL". It's not the first name change though, back in 1985 it started out as Quantum Computer Services, and switched over to America Online in 1991. "AOL had 19.5 million U.S. subscribers as of Dec. 31, a 27 percent drop from its peak of 26.7 million in September 2002. Over the past year, AOL has been increasingly shifting its efforts at making articles, video and other materials available for free through its ad-supported sites."... Read more...

If you're in the market for a large, widescreen LCD, you'll want to check out this review from Overclocker's Online. They've taken Samsung's gorgeous 244T for a spin, and liked it so much they gave it an award.  Nice LCD for sure, but I'll be sticking with my Dell 2405 until I can afford something bigger! :) "Samsung has once again delivered an exceptional display product that's far superior than any of the monitors I have worked with to date. The colors are exceptionally beautiful and there was no ghosting or blurring even during the most action packed scenes tested."... Read more...
