It's virtually impossible for a smartphone maker to keep its devices secret today as the supply chain is packed with sources looking to share information about unannounced devices. Sometimes details of products surface from manufacturers through mistakes that lead to order pages, and advertisements being posted early. The official Made by Google Facebook and Twitter pages were updated with a new cover image recently that, at first glance, may seem like a mistake. The new cover images show what appears to be an advertisement with some of the words in the bolded main sentence redacted out. A Google Store landing page features a similar main bolded section of text. Under the bolded main sentence... Read more...
The anticipation has been building towards the release of the Pixel 4a for months, and every time that we get closer to a [expected] release, nothing happens. The latest tease comes from Google itself, as it has leaked a previously unseen image of the Pixel 4a at its online store. The high-quality render doesn't show the entirety of the phone, but we can see enough (the upper half) from the front and back. The image of the back confirms the single primary camera and LED flash within a much larger square pod, along with an optical fingerprint sensor. On the front, we can spy a selfie camera nestled with a cutout in the upper left-hand side of the display. Also visible are relatively thin... Read more...
Google is looking for ways to entice shoppers to come to its online store and purchase plenty of loot on Black Friday. In keeping with this efforts, a message has reportedly gone out to some from the official Google Pixelbook address, and buried inside that email some users are finding promotional store credits. The email reads in part, "Your Black Friday deals are here." Inside, the email highlights some of the Black Friday deals that are being offered, including $350 off the Pixel Slate. That deal sees the Slate starting at $449 for the Core M3 version with 8GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. That deal also includes a free Pixelbook Pen and a Pixel Slate Keyboard or Brydge G-Type Keyboard. Google... Read more...
If you're in the market for one of the best smartphones that we tested during 2018, now might be the time to strike while the iron is hot. The Google Store is currently discounting both the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL by $150 each with no strings attached. That means that you can pick up the Pixel 3 for $649 instead of its regular MSRP of $799, while the Pixel 3 XL will set you back just $749 (versus an MSRP of $899). We should mention that these are the prices that you will pay upfront for a carrier unlocked device, so you won't have to deal with annoying carrier locks or messy and time-consuming monthly bill credits. But if you don't mind going through the above-mentioned hoops, you... Read more...
It looks as though Google is trying hard to clear out inventory of its previous generation Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL handsets. For the second time since October, Google is discounting the Pixel 2 series, this time with both models marked down to $599. That's a $50 discount for the Pixel 2, which debuted at $649, and a generous $250 discount for the Pixel 2 XL, which debuted at $849. Obviously the Pixel 2 XL is the better value, compared to the original MSRPs. It's also the larger of the two, with a 6-inch QHD+ (2880x1440) display. That works out to 538 pixels per inch. For anyone who prefers a smaller handset, the regular Pixel 2 features a 5-inch FHD (1920x1080) display. Pixels aren't as densely... Read more...
If you missed out on grabbing a discounted Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL during Black Friday or Cyber Monday, there's no need to fret, Google has marked both of its flagship phones down once again. The smaller Pixel 3 is selling for $699 in the Google Store, down $100 from its MSRP, and the Pixel 3 XL now starts at $749, down $150 from its MSRP. Those are not insignificant discounts, even if the discounts aren't quite as deep this time. They're also still not cheap handsets, even with the savings, though Google offers a finance option to spread the cost out over time. Here is how the upfront and financed pricing breaks down, depending on which model and storage configuration you choose: Pixel 3 w/ 64GB:... Read more...

If you want the smaller Pixel 2 to fit into your skinny jeans, that device has no discount and is going for the normal $649 price. If you have any money left over from Steam's recent sales bonanza, you can head over to the Google Store and grab a variety of electronics at a discount. Google is having a summer sale of its own, which runs until next or while supplies last. During that time, you will find marked down prices on some of Google's most popular products. Do you need a new smartphone? Google is currently offering the Pixel 2 XL for $100 off its list price. The discount drops the price of the 128GB model to $849, and the 64GB model to $749. While nearly a year old at this point, the Pixel 2 XL still holds up well—it has a 6-inch QHD+ display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB of RAM. It also... Read more...
