Samsung is showing off a pair of new curved gaming displays at Gamescom 2018; both of the monitors fall into the CJG5 family with the C32JG5 coming in with a 32-inch screen size and the C27JG5 featuring a 27-inch screen. Both screens have WQHD resolution, a curved screen, and a 144Hz refresh rate with high contrast ratios. Both displays will launch globally in Q3 with US pricing announced closer to launch. European pricing is reported to convert to the $400-$500 range, but pricing could be lower than that in the States. ASUS is at Gamescom 2018 and is showing off a huge number of products at the show. Among the plethora of new gaming gear at the show comes details on the company's anticipated NVIDIA GeForce Strix RTX 2080 Ti and 2080 graphics cards with pre-orders already underway. The video cards include the ROG Strix, ASUS Dual, and ASUS Turbo series of cards. ASUS says that each of those series meets the needs of a different group of gamers and feature new cooling technologies. This is a big week for PC gaming. The annual Gamescom event kicks off tomorrow, which means new product and game announcements, teasers, and other fun stuff will dominate the headlines. Among the participants is Dell—the company announced a pair of new FreeSync gaming monitors with fast refresh rates for smooth gaming. The new monitors are part of the Dell's recently introduced G series of products for games. They include the 24-inch S2419HGF and 27-inch S2719DGF. Both have a native 144Hz refresh rate, though the 27-inch model kicks things up a notch with support for overclocking to 155Hz when connected to the panel's DisplayPort. Dell has pulled the wraps off a new series of computers at Gamescom that run the gamut from desktop to laptop systems. The Aurora packs in next-generation NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics options and can be crammed with up to five storage drives inside. Intel Optane memory is supported with the new Aurora and Killer Gigabit Ethernet hardware is integrated. For those who like to upgrade their rigs over time, Alienware says that this machine is its most tool-less mid-tower chassis ever. NVIDIA wanted to keep things very close to the vest when it comes to its brand-new GeForce RTX family of ray-tracing graphics cards, and it was doing a great job of this information blackout until about a week ago. Now, we've been bombarded with leaked box shots, card shots, and specs of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 GPUs from multiple board partners before they are even officially announced. Is this the big event that the gaming community has been waiting for? Are we going to finally see the big reveal for the GeForce GTX 11 Series of graphics cards? Well, that appears to be the case according to an email that NVIDIA sent out to the tech press and a blog that it has posted in reference to this year's Gamescom. While Gamescom, which is being held in Cologne, Germany, is dedicated to all things gaming, NVIDIA will be holding its own off-site GeForce Gaming Celebration on August 20th. Microsoft revealed this morning that it will be announcing "all-new Xbox hardware and accessories" and "perhaps a few surprises" at this year's Gamescom, which is being held in Cologne, Germany. Microsoft will be making its big reveal during the Inside Xbox Show that will be broadcast live from Gamescom 2018 August 21st at 10:30am EST. Even though the current generation Xbox One was initially released in late 2013 and saw subsequent updates with the Xbox One S and Xbox One X in 2016 and 2017 respectively, we aren't likely to see next-generation Xbox hardware at the event. NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 11 Series is coming later this year, as was previously confirmed on-camera by a Lenovo representative. The indicated that the GeForce GTX 1180 would ship with the Lenovo Legion 730 Series gaming desktops this Fall. Now we're learning that NVIDIA is stockpiling roughly one million next-generation GTX 11 GPUs so that there will be an adequate supply of graphics cards to go around for a Q3 or Q4 2018 launch. It has been two years since the Pascal-based GeForce GTX 10 Series landed, so there is pent-up demand for this family's successor to fuel the 4K gaming craze.
