After disclosing some architecture details a few months back, and revealing the initial line-up of Rocket Lake-S based 11th Gen processors a few weeks ago, Intel is officially launching its latest family of mainstream desktop CPUs today, along with some new chipsets to enable all of their features in motherboard platforms. As most of you probably know by now, 11th Gen Intel Core processors based on Rocket Lake-S are manufactured using Intel’s mature 14nm process, but they feature the company’s latest microarchitecture and technology, which was backported from 10nm. We’ve got the flagship CPU in the new line-up on hand today, the Core i9-11900K, along with its more mainstream... Read more...
Intel is getting ready to launch Rocket Lake to the retail space in just a few weeks (end of March), at which point we will finally have some concrete answers for the most burning questions—Rocket Lake pricing, performance, and all that jazz. As we wait, some last-minute leaks are trickling in, including a benchmark entry for the upcoming Core i5-11600K, and what appears to be official press renderings for Rocket Lake's funky retail packaging. Let's start with the benchmark leak, shall we? Geekbench is the popular hangout for unreleased processors, and that is where the Core i5-11600K has made an early appearance. According to the listing, it is a 6-core/12-thread chip with a 3.9GHz base... Read more...
Back during CES 2021, Intel revealed some concrete details on its upcoming 11th generation Rocket Lake-S desktop family. Rocket Lake-S is the successor to Comet Lake-S, and will be the last 14nm product family from Intel built on the 14nm process node (which has long overstayed its welcome). At the time, the company provided details on the Core i9-11900K, which is the flagship of the Rocket Lake-S family. However, thanks to a leak from MSI, we now have full details for the first three members of the Rocket Lake-S family, which include the Core i9-11900K, Core i7-11700K, and the Core i5-11600K. We already knew that the Core i9-11900K features a base clock of 3.5GHz, but this... Read more...
