Forspoken is powered by Square Enix's luminous engine, and follows a young protagonist, Frey, as she tries to find her way back home after being mysteriously transported to the land of Athia. The game features detailed graphics with sprawling landscapes and a wide variety of creatures, and it supports numerous technologies, like FSR 3 with frame generation...
Forspoken Benchmarks
Forspoken was one of the first two titles to launch with support for AMD's FSR3 with frame generation and ran particularly well on Radeons out of the gate. In the time since its release, however, performance has been optimized quite a bit for both NVIDIA's and AMD's GPUs. Here, the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER is able to score a victory over the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and outruns the original RTX 4080, as expected.
With FSR 3 or DLSS enabled (sans frame generation), the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, original RTX 4080, and Radeon RX 7900 XTX finish right on top of each other, with the SUPER technically scoring another win. Flip on FSR 3 with Frame Generation and the Radeons jump up the stack, though. Technically, you can use FSR 3 with the GeForces as well, but the game supports DLSS and we're north of 100FPS already, so there's not much point unless you're trying to max out a high-refresh rate display.
Far Cry 6 Benchmarks Benchmarks
Next up, we’ve got some benchmark scores from
Far Cry 6, the latest installment in the storied franchise. Like its predecessors,
Far Cry 6 is a fast-action shooter set in an open world environment with lush visuals and high graphics fidelity. The game is set on the fictional Caribbean island of Yara, ruled by dictator "El Presidente" Antón Castillo, famously played by actor Giancarlo Esposito. We tested all of the graphics cards here at multiple resolutions using Ultra Quality settings to see how they handled this AAA title.

Farcry 6 GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Details @ 4K

Far Cry 6 has the Radeon RX 7900 XTX finishing out in front of the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER by a few frames per second at both resolutions. And once again, the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER edges past the original RTX 4080 by small margin.
Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is an action-adventure game where you play as Star-Lord and lead the rest of the Guardians from mission to mission. The game’s minimum requirements call for a Radeon RX 570 or GeForce GTX 1060-class GPU, but it also supports some of the latest graphics technologies, including
DXR and DLSS. With all of the in-game image quality settings maxed out, this game can be pretty punishing...
Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy
Guardians Of The Galaxy GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Details @ 4K
With ray traced lighting and shadows enabled, and the other image quality options set to their maximum in this game, it's fairly taxing and highlights NVIDIA's advantages when ray tracing is heavily factored into the mix. Whereas the Radeon RX 7900 XTX has a small advantage over the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER with titles the leverage traditional rasterization, that scales tip significantly in favor of NVIDIA when ray tracing comes into play.
Guardians doesn't support FSR or XeSS, but does support DLSS and as such, the chart above features only GeForces. As you'd expect, the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER lands between the original RTX 4080 and the top of the line RTX 4090. The RTX 4090 finishes well out in front, however, with the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER and original 4080 are essentially tied.
Returnal Benchmarks
Returnal is a port of the popular PS5 game, which follows Selene as she searches for a way out of the barren landscape of an ancient civilization.
Returnal is a fast-paced, third-person shooter that makes use of many advanced graphics techniques and employs technologies like DLSS,
XeSS, and FSR...
Returnal

Returnal GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Details @ 4K

We saw more of the same with Returnal. The GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER technically outruns the original RTX 4080, though the delta is quite small. The RTX 4090 dominates, and the Radeon RX 7900 XTX hangs with the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.
Enabling DLSS or FSR in Returnal significantly boosts framerates and all of the cards we tested enter fully playable territory. The overall rankings don't change though, and the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER lands in second place, behind only the 4090.
F1 23 Benchmarks
F1 23 is Codemaster’s latest Formula One racing simulation, and like previous version of the game, it sports impressive visuals. This latest addition to the franchise supports DirectX 12 with ray tracing, and it incorporates support for a number of AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) and NVIDIA technologies (like DLSS). We tested the games with its Ultra High graphics preset, with ray-tracing and TAA enabled at a couple of resolutions to see what the graphics cards could do.

F1 23

Although the actual framerates are different,
F1 23 doesn't tell us anything particularly new: the GeForce RTX 4090 decimates all, with the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER finishing behind it, but ahead of all of the other cards we tested.
With DLSS or FSR 2 enabled in F1 23, once again we see all of the cards in hitting perfectly playable framerates at 4K, but the rankings don't change. The GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER remains the second fastest GPU of the bunch.
Cyberpunk 2077 Benchmarks
Cyberpunk 2077 is based on the Cyberpunk tabletop role-playing game franchise. The tabletop game was published for the first time in 1988, and the intervening 30-some years have not changed the game world all that much. As a result,
Cyberpunk 2077 looks somewhat retro-futuristic, as this is how people in the 1980s imagined what the future would look like. The game make use of virtually every advanced DirectX graphics technologies, features like DLSS, FSR and XeSS, and after a somewhat rocky release, it has been significantly updated and optimized for a multitude of hardware configurations...
Cyberpunk 2077 is a GPU killer, when tested with very high in-game image quality settings and ray tracing. The Ultra quality preset isn't the most taxing mode, but it is enough to bring the GeForce RTX 4090 down below the 60 FPS threshold at 4K, whereas the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER just breaks the 30 FPS mark. 1440P is perfectly playable on the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, however. The Radeons land in the lower quadrant, with the 7900 XTX duking it out with the GeForce RTX 4070.
With DLSS of FSR enabled in
Cyberpunk, framerates more than double for most of the cards at 4K, and the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER breaks the 69 FPS mark. Flip on frame generation and things look even better for the GeForces.
