Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2 Speaker Promises Big Sound In A Rugged Package
Logitech is a company that has a lot of products under its umbrella. Gamers tend to think of it mostly as a gaming keyboard and mouse company with products like the recently announced the MX518 gaming mouse. Logitech also owns the Ultimate Ears brand, what has debuted a new product to provide customers with music on the go. That new device is called the Wonderboom 2, and it is a rugged wireless speaker.
Wonderboom 2 is a followup to the original Wonderboom speaker promising even bigger 360-degree sound than before and extra bass wherever you need it. Ultimate Ears bakes in a new Outdoor Boost mode, extended 13-hour battery life, IP67 rating, and Double Up true stereo pairing. The Outdoor Boost mode is specially-tuned for outdoor listing and is activated with a button press on the bottom of the speaker.
When activated, Outdoor Boost mode gives you louder, crisper audio with a built-in and pre-adjusted EQ claiming to complement any outdoor environment. Wonderboom 2 promises more bass than the original speaker with a lower cutoff frequency, and 30% better battery life. Being IP67 rated means that the speaker is waterproof and dustproof -- as an added bonus, it also floats.
The button interface on top has been redesigned, making it easier to play, pause, and skip tracks directly on the speaker. Double Up gives users with a pair of Wonderboom 2 speakers the ability to enjoy true left and right stereo sound. Ultimate Ears designed the Wonderboom 2 with two-tone fabric in Deep Space Black (Black), Crushed Ice (Grey), Radical Red (Red), Bermuda Blue (Blue) and Just Peach (Pink) colors. Wonderboom 2 is available in select European countries now with preorders underway in the U.S. for $99.99. It will launch in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand this summer.
