The Sims 4 Is Available For Free Through May 28, Here's How To Get It
Everyone likes free video games, and if you lean towards the casual sort of game, you might remember EA's The Sims 4. The game has been around for what seems like forever, with the launch trailer for the title first surfacing back in 2013. EA has been working hard to release new updates for the game and expansion packs to keep players busy.
Recently it launched content packs called Get Famous and Strangerville that bring new career options and terrain tools. The franchise is known for allowing players to live virtual lives inside the game and build homes while perfecting careers. EA is now offering the base game for free via Origin through May 28.
One catch is that the major expansions Get Famous and Strangerville aren't included in the free version of the game. Undoubtedly, EA is hoping by giving gamers the base game at no cost they can woo people to pay for the expansions. The Sims 4 is available on Mac and PC systems.
Gamers who want all the content can purchase the full version of the game for $49.99. Once the free game is downloaded, it is free for the gamer to play forever and remains in the library after the free promotion ends on May 28. Perhaps the biggest downside is that players will need to install Origin on their computer to partake.
The base game is also part of the EA Access subscription service.
