Sony VAIO Tap 11 Claims World’s Thinnest Windows 8 Tablet PC, Takes On Surface Pro
Sony has yet to share gritty details on the VAIO Tap 11, but the 11.6-inch device does have a full HD display, runs Windows 8, has an Intel Core processor, and enjoys SSD storage. There’s an 8MP rear camera and the promise of quality audio with ClearAudio+ technology on board and NFC-enabled speakers.
The VAIO Tap 11 comes with a handy stylus with which you can take notes, sketch ideas, and annotate, and it’s an ideal companion input method for touch, when the tablet is undocked, or for type. The full-pitch keyboard includes a touchpad, and of course it protects the screen when in transit, too. You can also use the VAIO Tap 11 as a second screen using TV SideView with a Bravia TV, and the infrared remote built into the tablet allows you to change channels, adjust the volume of the TV, and more.
Sony didn’t give a price for the VAIO Tap 11, but the tablet PC will be available in Europe in “Autumn 2013” and will come in black or white.
