Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 Leaks In New Alleged CAD Renders
We now have a pretty good idea of what the final design of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 9 will look like when it is officially unveiled. Steve Hemmerstoffer, a notorious leaker that some people know better as @OnLeaks, his Twitter handle, posted an official looking render of the upcoming phablet that is based upon Samsung's factory CAD files for the device. Assuming the CAD file are legitimate, the renders depict what it will actually look like.
Steve has a very favorable history when it comes to leaked information—he and Evan Blass (@evleaks) seem to be plugged into the pre-release scene and often post press renders and other things on Twitter before they become official. In this case, we're getting a sneak peek at the Galaxy Note 9 and one thing that Android fans will be pleased to see is that Samsung is not going with a notched designed.

That isn't surprising, given the copious shade Samsung likes to throw at Apple over the notch on the iPhone X. However, it's still worth pointing out, given the number of Android phones that have emerged with a notch at the top of the display. Overall, the Galaxy Note 9 looks very similar to the Galaxy Note 8, though the top and bottom bezels do look ever-so-slightly thinner compared to its predecessor.
The sides look the same too. A Bixby button and volume rocker sit on the left side of the phone, and on the bottom there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, speaker grill, and microphone. Pretty standard stuff, thought it's nice to see that the 3.5mm jack is surviving another round.
As expected, Samsung is rolling with dual cameras on the back of the Galaxy Note 9, flanked by an LED flash and a fingerprint reader. It's not yet known what the megapixel count will be on either camera sensor, though overall camera performance is something that Samsung typically focuses heavily on when releasing new top-tier smartphones.
Previous leaks pointed to the Galaxy Note 9 running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor in the US, and the company's own Exynos 9810 SoC in the international model. It's also been noted that Samsung will launch its Bixby 2.0 AI assistant on the Galaxy Note 9.
Nothing has been officially announced yet, though it's expected that Samsung will formally introduced the Galaxy Note 9 during its Unpacked event on August 9.
