Samsung Set To Unpack The Galaxy Note 8 On 8/23 At NYC Event

Samsung has sent out invites for its “Unpacked” event, which is scheduled for August 23rd in New York City. Judging by all of the previous leaks and the image that Samsung sent out (which shows an Infinity Display device with an S Pen), it should come as no surprise that this will be the coming out party for the Galaxy Note 8.

Samsung is expecting us to “Do bigger things” with the Galaxy Note 8, and we can’t wait to see what the company has in store for customers.

It’s widely expected that the Galaxy Note 8 will adopt some of the same design characteristics as the Galaxy S8 family including the near bezel-less display. However, the Galaxy Note 8 will likely have a slightly larger display (6.3 inches) compared to the 6.2-inch display of the Galaxy S8+. In addition, the new flagship will reportedly feature dual 12MP rear cameras and perhaps even an embedded fingerprint sensor in the display.

The Galaxy Note 8 will need to truly impress after Samsung blew it big time with last year’s launch of the Galaxy Note 7. That smartphone was recalled twice because of battery fires before eventually being pulled completely off the market. However, the smartphone has returned to the South Korean market as the Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition, albeit with a smaller [and non-exploding] 3,200 mAh battery.
