Shopping for a Samsung Galaxy phone doesn't necessarily mean paying flagship prices or rolling the dice on a used handset from a sketchy marketplace seller. In fact, it just got markedly easier. How so? Samsung is expanding the reach of its 'Certified Re-Newed' program to Amazon, giving shoppers another way to pick up a refurbished Galaxy smartphone with a fresh battery, genuine Samsung components, and a manufacturer-backed warranty.

The program expansion kicks off with 14 refurbished Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25 series models that are now available at Amazon.com. Prices start at $489 before taxes and fees, with the lineup spanning everything from the more affordable Galaxy S24 FE to the once-upon-a-time flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra, although color choices are limited.

According to Samsung, each device is serviced by its own specialists and repaired entirely with genuine Samsung parts, including a certified new battery. The phones must also pass 147 quality checkpoints before earning the Certified Re-Newed designation. Each model comes with a quick start guide, data cable, and ejector pin.

Samsung is also backing the refurbished phones with a one-year limited warranty. If that's not enough peace of mind, buyers can opt for Samsung Care+ coverage for additional protection against accidental damage and hardware failures, though obviously that's an added cost.

Here are the available models on Amazon:
That's a fairly broad range, though the Ultra models aren't exactly cheap, even in refurbished form. Still, you potentially save several hundred dollars versus buying new. For example, the Galaxy S25 Ultra with 512GB of storage is currently listed for $1,438 and up on Amazon, depending on the color choice. So going the Certified Re-Newed program route saves $409 while still getting a fresh battery and year-long warranty.

One other thing to keep in mind is that the current selection as part of the program expansion covers the Galaxy S24 and S25 families, but doesn't yet include Samsung's foldable phones or the Galaxy S26 series. If you're after a refurbished Galaxy Z Fold or Z Flip, you'll have to look elsewhere for now.
